It's a great event to spend some time as a family enjoying the Season while supporting a great cause.

There is a suggested donation of $10.00 donation per runner/walker for this event. If you can't make it
to the event, run on your own time and make your donation through The Banquet's website at
http://thebanquetsf.org/donate Event Description: The Run for This is a 5k- 10k or 1-mile fun
run/walk. This is always held on Thanksgiving Day. It can be on the day or at your own convenience.
The route is set on the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. Gather in the Nordstrom Johnson Building and the
run will begin just outside the parking lot. There is ample parking and the route is along a paved path.
All proceeds benefit The Banquet feeding ministry. Run for Food is a no frills fun walk/run and is The
Banquet's largest fundraiser! The event has been taking place annually since 2004. Depending on the
weather, 400 to 600 runners will participate.

Kids of all ages are encouraged to write a letter to Santa and bring it to Macy's Store in the Empire
Mall. For every letter written, Macy's will donate $1 (up to $1 million nationwide) to Make-A-Wish,
including Make-A-Wish South Dakota, who grants wishes to kids across our state. On National
Believe Day, Friday, December 6, Macy's will donate $2 per letter, up to another $1 million
nationwide. This is a great project for schools, daycares and organizations to write a letter to Santa,
while also helping to make wishes come true for kids with critical illnesses. Find out more at:

Friday, November 8 - Saturday, December 24, The Salvation Army will conduct its annual Red Kettle
fundraising campaign. Red Kettles will be placed at local shopping stores across Minnehaha and
Lincoln Counties. The Red Kettle Campaign is The Salvation Army's largest fundraising event of the
year. All money raised supports local programs and services. This year our Red Kettle goal is
$550,000. On Saturday, December 14, we will be holding our special Match Day. For every $20.00
bill donated, it will be matched with $80.00 to turn it into $100.00. To become a red kettle partner by

model railroads in a Christmas setting. Trains At Christmas is a great time to shop for your train
enthusiast. This year Trains At Christmas will be held on November 23rd and 24th. Doors open on
the 23rd at 10:00am and close at 5:00pm, on Sunday the 24th, doors open at 10:00am and close at
4:00pm. There is something for everyone so bring the entire family young and young at heart.
