SUMMER DAY CAMP: KINDERGARTEN-2ND GRADE
Lincolnwood Summer Day Camp is back for a summer filled with fun, sun and friendships while keeping safety in
mind! Each week will have a unique theme where campers will fill their day with swimming, sports, crafts, STEM
activities and a weekly onsite fieldtrip. Camp will be held at Proesel Park.
Our friendly and trained staff will be there to provide a exciting and safe camp experience. Additional
COVID-19 related policies and procedures can be viewed at lincolnwoodil.org. As COVID-19 regulations change,
we will provide updates to our program offerings to keep you informed when the changes pertain to the summer

COVID-19 UPDATES
The 2021 Summer Day Camp program will adhere to any COVID-19 restrictions that apply.
The guidelines and restrictions are very fluid and the following activity restrictions may change
at any given time. Any changes will be communicated prior to implementation.

                         Camp will include recreational swim time at the aquatic center at least once per week. As

                         Swim lessons at the aquatic center are being offered before camp hours this year. Campers who
                         register for swim lessons will be checked in at the aquatic center and then walked to camp with

                         with all camp families.

                         An ongoing interest list has been developed for families who would like to register a child for a
 Teen & Preschool        camp that serves 3-4 year olds or 6th- 8th graders. To join this list visit recreation.lwd.org. If

      Camp               additional space within the community can be secured, we will strive to offer a camp option for
                         these age groups. Specialty camps are also available for youth up to age 13.
                         The program will adhere to current mask mandates and guidelines. At this time, masks will be

                         Campers will have the opportunity to enjoy playgrounds on a daily basis. Groups of campers

teen camps, arts and crafts camps, S.T.E.A.M. and more! Specialty Camps are held outdoors at
Proesel Park. Weather related cancellations will be rescheduled or refunded.

guards, and bring a water bottle. Parents
should plan to attend a brief parent meeting
on the first day of camp to get a quick
overview of the program.

CHEER AND YOGA CAMP
Under the direction of Chicago Loves Dance instructors, participants will be sure to have a blast in this summer
outdoor camp. Participants will learn cheer and poms choreography, and will also work on flexibility,
relaxation and stretching in a daily yoga session.

Participants will learn a variety of cheers daily, work on form, and add on to their poms dance routine. Participants
will then move into a yoga/stretch session where they will learn traditional kids yoga poses, while working on
stretches that are helpful for cheer movements.

If guidelines allow, the last day of the class will be a parent watch day highlighting everything learned at camp.

HIP HOP DANCE AND YOGA CAMP

 Campers learn how mechanical engineering principles are applied to create the wonderful machines that make up
 our world. They will be building working models of machines, mechanisms, hydraulic cranes and much more as they

THEME PARK ENGINEERING CAMP
Students learn engineering with hands-on tinkering to understand and apply the design and engineering concepts
as they create innovative solutions to challenges. Young engineers enjoy the thrill of an amusement park by building
working model of various rides like Carousel, Ferris Wheel, while learning engineering principles, circuitry, mecha-

Young learners dive into programming with Scratch, a visual programming environment with drag-and-drop
creative learning environment developed by MIT Media Lab. Participants use code blocks and library of characters
enabling them to focus on the logic & enjoy the learning experience! Working on different levels, young coders
think creatively, reason systematically and problem-solve to create their own interactive stories, games &
animations. While developing games and apps, they will also learn programming concepts like variables,
conditional statements, animation, loops, vent handling, and operators.

Participants learn to create and publish their own 2D games and app using Construct 3’s powerful visual system.
Construct 3 is a powerful event-based software that allows participants to learn the principles of programming such
as input/output, variables, loops, conditional statements, data structures and much more in an accessible and easy
to understand way. This camp will walk participants through the process of creating spectacular games like RPGs,
physics games, runner games, platformers and mobile device games.

Using Minecraft’s Redstone blocks, participants learn and build electronic circuits to act in response to player

Minecraft offers a great entry point into the world of architecture. Using Minecraft as CAD tool, our next genera-

pants create the floor plan and design the interiors with various types of stones, materials, and shapes to build their
dream structure.

 This camp is designed to instruct each participant on proper baseball technique. Instruction and improvement of

FLAG FOOTBALL TRAINING CAMP
This camp provides participants with knowledge of basic offensive and defensive football strategy. Each
participant learns the basics of the game with the opportunity to put their skills and knowledge to use in a positive
competitive environment. Coaches emphasize offensive formations and plays, rules, strategy and fundamentals. All
