 Hair must be in a bun for all Ballet and Pointè classes. For all other classes hair is to be
pulled back off the face and tied up tightly to ensure that it is secure. A head band is
suggested in order to keep hair off the face.

What should my child bring to class with them?
 Please ensure that your child brings a drink bottle with water in it to class each week.
 If your child has a break between classes it is advised that they bring a healthy snack to
eat (in the waiting room). We are a nut free studio.
 Please remember that eating is NOT permitted in the studio under any circumstances and
water is the only drink that is permitted.

Correct footwear
Raz Studios practices and encourages safe dance practice for all students! A part of safe
dance and ensuring the safety of your child is that your child is wearing the correct footwear
for each class. Your child will not be permitted to participate in any class where they do not
have the correct shoes. Below is a table outlining the correct footwear for each discipline
taught at Raz Studios.

 If you are unsure of the footwear required for a class please consult your child’s
teachers. If you need help in choosing or getting your child’s shoes please do not
hesitate to contact Lenae Razbusek on 0435 470 446.
 Please note that if your child does not have the correct footwear they may be
asked to sit down in class. Safety first!
 Please ensure that you seek professional assistance from the friendly staff at
Centrestage Dancewear or Bloch when purchasing your child’s Dance shoes. Poor
fitting or non-dance specific shoes can be detrimental to your child’s health. After
consultation with specialised Dance medical specialists Raz Studios strongly
advises against purchasing any shoes from department store such as Big W,
Kmart and Aldi as these shoes are not safe for your child to wear and can cause
long term damage to their growing feet/bodies.
 ALL int and snr students MUST wear black lace up tap shoes.
 Please note- students in cheerleading and acro will be required to purchase

assist with all of your show requirements.

Supervision and collection of children
 Raz Studios is not responsible for students past the time of the conclusion of their
class or prior to their class beginning. If you are running late for any reason, please
send Lenae Razbusek a text message to 0435 470 446 stating your child’s name and
       how late you will be.
 Raz Studios is not responsible for children outside of class time. This includes prior to
classes commencing for the day and after the last class. If your child/ siblings are
inside the studio whether that be whilst they are in class, whilst they are waiting for
class to commence or waiting to be picked up it is expected that they sit on the side of
the studio and behave appropriately. If your child is running around inside the studio
prior to classes commencing they will be asked to wait in the waiting room as it can
be a potential safety concern. This is also expected of any siblings present.
 Please ensure that you are on time to collect you children as children become quiet
anxious when they are waiting to be picked up.
 Punctuality to class is essential for your child’s learning, so please ensure that you are
at the studio ready for class 5 minutes prior to the commencement of your child’s
       class.
 All students are to be escorted to and from their classes by a parent or guardian. No
students are permitted to walk from the car park to the studio by themselves.
 If your child has a gap between classes prior arrangements may be made with Miss
Lenae prior to the commencement of the term for your child to sit in the studio with
the class teacher. Students will not be permitted to wait in the studio if they have no
other classes to attend. Students may wait in the waiting room at any time, however if
they are not physically enrolled in a class that is happening at the said time, Raz
Studios is not responsible for their supervision. Siblings who are not enrolled students
of Raz Studios are not permitted to sit and wait in the studio at any time and must be
under direct supervision of parents whilst at the studio.

Positive attitude
At Raz Studios we pride ourselves in providing a fun and safe learning environment. When at
Raz Studios every single person including the students, the parents and the staff have the
right to feel safe. It is an expectation of Raz Studios that all students show their utmost
respect towards their teachers and other staff and that all students are friendly towards each
other. It is also an agreement of enrolling your child at Raz Studios that you as a
parent/caregiver will also exhibit a positive and friendly attitude towards the staff, other
students and other parents/caregivers. Therefore any parent/caregiver who is aggressive or
rude towards any Raz Studios staff member will be asked to leave Raz Studios and not return.
Raz Studios has a strict ZERO tolerance to negativity, gossiping and rudeness. It is requested
that any issues are addressed with Lenae Razbusek at a time scheduled that works for both
the parent/caregivers as well as Lenae Razbusek and is done in a confidential manner.

Raz Studios has a ZERO tolerance to bullying policy. Every single child has the right to feel
happy and safe whilst at dancing. Dancing is a place where every child should feel loved,
valued and special. If bullying occurs within Raz Studios, all students involved will be

your referenc.
Bullying, Harassment and discrimination

Raz Studio has a zero tolerance to bullying, harassment and discrimination. Intentional sexual
harassment is a criminal offence punishable by imprisonment or a fine. It is the policy of Raz
Studios that bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, discrimination and other forms
of inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. The following procedure informs students
and parents of the type of behaviour that is unacceptable and provides persons who are the
victims of bullying, harassment, sexual harassment or discrimination with a means of redress.
Complaints will be dealt with fairly, promptly and in a confidential manner.

Harassment
Harassment is any type of behaviour that the other person does not want and is abusive,
belittling or offensive. It does not matter whether it was intended, and may be explicit or
implicit, verbal or non-verbal.

Sexual Harassment
Sexual harassment is unwanted behaviour of a sexual nature by one person to another. Sexual
harassment includes unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favours, and other
verbal, visual or physical conduct of a sexual nature.
Students and/or parents may not always realise that their behaviour constitutes sexual
harassment but must recognise that what is acceptable to one person may not be acceptable to
another. Examples of harassment include:
    - insensitive jokes and pranks
    - lewd comments about appearance
    - inappropriate body contact
    - displays of sexually offensive material, e.g. pin-ups
    - requests for sexual favours
    - speculation about a person’s private life and sexual activities; and
    - threatened or actual sexual violence.

Bullying
Bullying is repeated, unreasonable behaviour directed towards a person or group of persons,
that creates a risk to their health and safety. Examples of bullying include:
    - insensitive jokes
    - pranks intended to humiliate
    - deliberate exclusion from conversations
    - abusive, threatening or insulting words and behaviour
    - displaying abusive writing and pictures, and
    - spreading of malicious rumours.

Complaints
All complaints of bullying, harassment and discrimination will be treated very seriously. Any
person who reports bullying, harassment or discrimination will not be victimised. Raz
Studios is concerned to ensure that students and parents feel able to raise grievances through
the this procedures and that no individual will be penalised for doing so, unless it is untrue
and made maliciously.
Complaints of bullying, harassment or discrimination must be lodged with Lenae Razbusek
who will ensure a full investigation into the complaint and will take the appropriate steps, as
she sees fit, to resolve the complaint including, but not limited to:
1. Speaking to the students and /or parents / guardian of the student;
2. Terminating the enrolment of a student
3. Prohibiting a person or persons from attending or entering the property where classes are
conducted; and
4. Refer the matter to external parties (such as the legal and enforcement authorities)
