Participation House, Markham will hold our 26th Annual Golf Tournament at the
breathtaking Emerald Hills Golf Club in Stouffville, on Thursday September 20, 2018. This exclusive club
features a peaceful and serene course surrounded by the natural beauty of large trees and rolling hills.
The tournament will have a Scramble format with registration beginning at 10:00 am, lunch at 11:00 am
and a Shotgun Tee-off at 12:30 pm. After a fun and relaxing afternoon of golf, our tournament features a
Reception, Dinner Prizes and Auctions. Invite your friends and family to join you and celebrate an evening
with Good Food, Raffles and an Award Ceremony prizes and raising money for a great cause.

As this is a charity event, if the golf portion of the tournament is cancelled due to weather or other
events, the entry fee is non-refundable; however, the indoor activities will take place and you will be
updated by email/phone with the details.

Your Support will assist the Physical Exercise Program
Help us reach this year’s goal of $30,000 to continue expanding and advancing our program.
Last year we raised $25,000, which allowed us to give all our residents a chance to participate in the
Physical Exercise Program. While this is a great improvement, our goal is to continue to offer one-on-one
individual exercise for our residents, a daily group exercise activity and purchase new equipment that
will enhance and maintain our residents mobility.

About Us Donations Participation House, Markham has a long history of making life better for people with disabilities and, every day, we build on that history. At seven different sites in York Region, we serve 114 men and women ranging in age from 20 to 86. Every one of our clients deserves the very best of life, and we help them live it. Participation House, Markham receives financial support from the Ontario Government, namely the Ministry of Community and Social Services and the Central Local Health Integrated Network (Central LHIN). This support covers substantially all of our operating costs, however vital capital investments, such as specially-equipped vans, pool improvements, running our Gym Program and Adult Literacy School, as well as other capital projects, are funded through our own fundraising activities. Changing government funding policies in the past few years have had an impact on social agencies such as Participation House, Markham. These changes have mobilized PH to become an active and innovative fundraiser.
