  The 2014 Annual Conference of VISION 2020- 5th – 6th July, 2014
  10th Annual Conference of Vision 2020 ‘Advancement in
  Comprehensive Eye Care: Clinical and Managerial’ was
  held on July 5th & 6th July, 2014. The conference was
  hosted by south zone member - Little Flower Eye Hospital
  and Research Centre, Angamaly, Kerala. Dr. B.K Jain,
  Director   and    Trustee,   Dr.   Alok    Sen,   Medical
  Superintendent & Chief of VR Services, Mr. Subramanyam,
  Sr. Manager- CCO and Mr. Subeesh Kuyyadiyil , Asst.
  Administrator, SNC participated and presented papers at different sessions.

  A new machine Visucom-500 was inaugurated by… for Retina Sub-
  specialty for enabling the precision with upgradation of
  departmental initial investigations and thus supporting better
  patient care.

 An Exposure Visit- 22nd July 2014

 Ophthalmologists from Help Me See, our International partner,
 came to Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya for 3 days visit from 22nd July
 to 24th July 2014. Objective of the visit was to have a short
 orientation of the clinical interventions done by the hospital. Dr.
 Abraham Wodome from Lome, Togolese Republic, Congo and Dr.
 Robert Ndiaye from Senegal did Clinical and surgical observations.
 With successful visit at the hospital, both the partners agreed on
 the potential ties and opportunities, expressing their desire to have further visit for their thorough
 understanding and skill-up gradation.

                                                Dr. Om Prakash from Lady Harding Medical College (Delhi
                                                University, Faculty of Medical Sciences) New Delhi, came for
                                                the inspection of Diplomate of National Board (DNB) for
                                                getting authorized by the National Board of Examinations
                                                (NBE) . Dr. Elesh Jain, Dr. Alok Sen and Dr. Amit Mishra led the

                                                 ORBIS India Partners’ Workshop was held on 23rd-24th
                                                 August 2014 at MGM Eye Institute Raipur. Mr.
                                                 D.Subramanyam, Sr. Program Manager, SNC participated
                                                 in the workshop.

 Eye-Donation Fortnight -25th Aug to 8th Sep, 2014

 29th Eye Donation Fortnight was celebrated from 25th
 August to 08th September 2014. Multifarious activities
 were carried out like stall in Kamtanath Parikrama
 Marg, Leaflet distribution in different locations ,
 Pledging center at SNC , Eye donation badge to key
 people , Meeting at Satna, Speech on eye donation at
 Sadguru and near-by schools , Vision center – Eye
 donation pledging center , Eye bank CME for JKC and
 SNC key staffs, Rangoli competition , Poster competition , Essay competition , Quiz programme,
 Community meet at Satna, Rally and Nukkad natak, HCRP focused meeting at Banda and Satna district
 hospitals and eye -video screening . The dedicated staff of the organization participated and contributed
 for the same to overcome the myths related to the Eye Donation and spread the awareness.

 Abbott Medical Optics Inc. Counselor Training- 28th & 29th Aug, 2014
 Abbott Medical Optics Inc. gave training to the counselors of
 SNC imparting them knowledge about various types of IOLs
 (like monofocal, multifocal, toric and toric multifocal) and their
 respective properties. Mr. Chandan Kumar, Counselor training
 specialist from AMO, Gurgaon, also oriented the counselors
 regarding the Refractive error. The objective was to enable the
 counselors to provide better patient counseling with subject
 matter expertise.

 Retina Update 2014 – 30th & 31st August, 2014

 Retina Update-2014, a two day conference on recent advances on retina was organized on 30th & 31st
 August 2014 at SNC Chitrakoot. Dr. Amod Gupta, Chandigarh, Dr. M.R. Dogra, Chandigarh, Dr. Atul
 Kumar, New Delhi, Dr. Jyotirmay Biswas, Chennai, Dr. Rajiv Raman, Chennai, Dr. Shobhit Chawla,
 Lucknow, Dr. Gunjan Prakash, Agra, Dr. Manish Nagpal, Ahmedabad, Dr. Arvind Dubey, Gwalior, Dr.
 Dhananjay Shukla, Gwalior & Dr. Damodar Bachani, New Delhi were the eminent faculties. Conference
 was a success with untiring effort of Dr. Alok Sen and team. 3-D Live Surgery sessions were organized
 with Dr. Manish N. (ERM Peeling), Dr. Atul Kumar (Macular hole).

 Govt. PMOAs’ Refresher Training Program -15th - 20th Sep, 2014

 SNC organized Govt. Paramedical Refresher Training Program from 15th to 20th Sep. Total 27 PMOAs
 from UP Govt., participated in the program. The main purpose of the training program was to orient the
 Government Paramedical ophthalmic assistants on skills pertaining to primary eye care delivery and
 expose them to recent advances in ophthalmology at primary, secondary and tertiary care level.

 Visit of Dr. Gyan Prakash - 23rd – 24th Sep, 2014

 Dr. Gyan Prakash, Director, Office of International Program Activities, National Eye Institute (USA) visited
 Chitrakoot on 23rd and 24th of September 2014. On the occasion, Shri Murlidhar Dubey, Commissioner,
 Chitrakootdham Division, chaired the program. Dr. Prakash held several Brainstorming sessions with
 members of Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya for strengthening of research activities at Chitrakoot by mutual
 association and collaboration with national and international research focused. Dr. Prakash, whose
 native is from U.P., India, has recently launched the Asian Eye Genetics Consortium which will bring eye
 disease researchers and clinicians together to uncover the roles that genes play in causing the eye
 diseases in the Asian population, including India.

 Inauguration of Five New Vision Centres – Aug- Sep, 2014

 Under the aegis of the Trust, SNC has inaugurated Five Vision Centres in four Districts of Madhya
 Pradesh, Rewa, Sidhi, Katni and Shahdol in the month of Aug and Sep, 2014. With these inaugurations
 the total no. of VCs in Madhya Pradesh increased from 12 to 17 in numbers. This intervention was made
 by the Trust in order to meet the demand generation pertaining to the eye care need of community at
 their doorsteps. The Centers will serve the community for primary level eye care services saving patients
 from travel and exertion.

          The Trust visualized a concept of making districts Cataract Backlog Free
          Zone in collaboration with Help Me See Inc., USA and govt. district
          authorities in 2012 and formulated in the year 2013 by initiating this
          concept in District Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh (declaration of Cataract
          Backlog Free Zone will be held on 2nd Oct, 2014).
          Extending these services, the Trust has now shouldered the responsibility
          of District Panna, Madhya Pradesh and District Banda in collaboration with
          Help Me See Inc., USA and govt. district authorities of Madhya Pradesh and              Training at Panna
          Uttar Pradesh.. The project for the district was inaugurated at Panna
          District with consent of Collector, District Panna, Mr. R. K. Mishra on 26th
          May, 2014 and at Banda District in consent with Commissioner Banda, Mr.
          Murlidhar Dubey on 23rd July, 2014. Senior Paramedical Team of the Trust
          gave training to 1381 Anganwadi and Asha workers at Panna and 942
          Anganwadi and ASHA workers at Banda for door to door screening of
          visually disabled persons in rural and urban part of District Panna and
          District Banda.

 28th Free Polio correction camp – 11th-17th July, 2014
 Jankikund Chikitsalaya organized 28th free polio corre
 ction camp between 11th – 17th July. Total no. of
 patients registered on the occasion were 719.
 Renowned Orthopedic surgeon Dr.H.K.Vakharia and
 team from Jamnagar, Gujarat performed 64 Knee
 replacement     and   other    complicated   orthopedic
 surgeries. The camp was supported by Paresh Bhai and
 Navneet Bhai Bhagat, Mumbai in association with Mahavir Viklang Seva Samiti, Kota, Rajasthan.

                                              Calipers Distribution Program - 28th Aug, 2014
                                              Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust organized Post-surgical
                                              Caliper distribution camp at Jankikund Chikitsalaya. The
                                              aim of the program was to provide Free Calipers to
                                              physically challenged persons (who underwent surgery),
                                              under ADIP scheme of Government of India (GOI) with the
                                              support of Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti, Rajasthan. Dr.
 Ranjeet Maniar Mumbai and Dr. Poonam Advani, CMO, Jankikund Chikitsalaya distributed 251 calipers
 were on the occasion.

 Inauguration of Oxygen generator plant – 25th Sep, 2014

 The Trust has inaugurated Oxygen generator plant at Jankikund
 Chikitsalaya campus on 25th Sep, 2014 to cater the need of
 oxygen supplies. This intervention would fulfil the demand of
 both Jankikund Chikitsalaya and Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya for
 all clinical procedures and surgeries.

 Teacher’s day Celebration – 5th Sep, 2014

    Under the aegis of the Trust, Sadguru Shiksha Samiti, celebrated teacher’s day on 5th Sep, 2014 at
    Sadguru Auditorium Vidyadham School Campus and felicitated all teachers. The program was
    celebrated with online speech of Honourable PM of India, Shri Narendra Modi on importance of
    Guru in life to students of nation. It was broadcasted and shown to all students and teachers and
    was appreciated by all.

 Scholarship distribution – 5th Sep, 2014

                                          On Occasion of Teacher's Day 05th Sept. 2014 Sadguru
                                          Shiksha Samiti organized Scholarship distribution program
                                          which is received every year from Shri Arvind Mafatlal
                                          Foundation, Mumbai. The aim of the program was to
                                          encourage and appreciate top 05 students from class 6th-12th
                                          who scored above 70% in their academic record and they will
                                          be getting free education, free books and uniform.
    Scholarship was announced and distributed by Dr. B.K.Jain (Trustee & Director); Smt. Usha B. Jain
    (President, Education Society) in presence of other members of Society. Total 69 meritorious
    students of session 2013-14 received scholarship this year on this occasion.

 68th Independence Day Celebration

 68th Independence Day was celebrated in Vidyadham School Campus. Dr. B.K.Jain hoisted the flag and
 took the salute of the ‘March Past’. The celebration was followed with various sports and cultural
 programs performed by the students of Sadguru Institute of computer science, Sadguru Institute of
 Nursing and Paramedical Sciences, Sadguru Public school and Vidyadham School.

 Go Green!

 With an aim to keep atmosphere clean and green, the
 Trust always gives emphasis on tree plantation. In
 continuation to the trend the Trust planted around
 11,500 trees in the campus. Dr. B.K. Jain on the occasion
 said that it is mandatory to do plantation if we want to
 save our environment from disasters and natural
 calamities. The Slogan was ‘Save Trees and Grow Trees’

 Shree Gauri Vrat Mahotsav- 10th – 15th July, 2014
 The Trust organized 16th ‘Shree Gauri Vrat Mahotsav’ from
 10th – 15th July at Prarthana Bhavan Hall. On this occasion
 125 girls participated in the Mahotsav. The Vrat came to an
 end with ‘Ratri Jagran’ in which various cultural programs
 including Play, Solo dance and group dances were exhibited
 by the girls.

                                              In continuation to the traditional celebration of
                                              ‘Gurupoornima    Mahotsav’,    SSSST    celebrated   the
                                              Mahotsav with the same spirit in the presence of
                                              Gurubhai and Sant Samaj. Dr. Elesh Jain and Sadguru
                                              Family did Guru Poojan on the occasion and Mahotsav
                                              concluded with the ‘Vishal Bhandara’.

 Shreemad Bhagwat Katha – 24th – 30th Jul, 2014

 Dr. B.K.Agrawal (Senior Medical Officer, Jankikund Chikitsalaya) organized Shreemad Bhagwat Katha
 from 24th – 30th Jul, 2014 at Raghuveer Mandir Campus. The Katha was delivered by Param Pujya Shri
 Rajendradas ji Maharaj.

 Jhoola Mahotsav- 6th Aug – 10th Aug, 2014
 Jhoola Mahotsava was celebrated by Sadguru Parivar
 in Raghuveer Mandir campus. Various scenes depicting
 Lord Rama & Krishna’s life were staged through Jhanki
 and   Bhajan   sandhya enormously enriched       the
 celebration of Mahotsav. The whole Mandir campus
 was decorated with lights and flowers.

 Shree Krishna Janmashtami Mahotsav – 19th Aug, 2014
                                            The biggest Hindu religious festival Krishna Janmashtami
                                            2014 was celebrated on 19th August, 2014 with full zeal
                                            and devotion by Sadguru Parivar at the Mandir campus.
                                            This day commemorates the birth of Lord Krishna where
                                            the various teams of the Trust compete to break the clay
                                            pot filed with curd, butter, and goodies are hung high up
                                            on the top. Dahi-Handi ceremony was also celebrated with
                                            great enthusiasm by the team of Ophthalmic Assistants of
 Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya.

  Vision 2020- Right to Sight- 5th – 6th Jul, 2014

  10th Annual Conference of Vision 2020 – The Right to
  Sight India was held on 5th-6th July 2014 at Little Flower
  Eye Hospital and Research Center, Angamaly, Kerala. Mr.
  Milind Rawal, Sr. Program Manager attended the
  conference on behalf of SSNC. With a large participation
  of INGOs, NGOs, Trade and Community health related
  experts, the national conference offers an excellent
  platform and an opportunity to discuss, network and
  contribute towards improving the eye care in the country.

  Visit of Technical Expert from Lions Clubs International - 11th Jul, 2014
                                          To upgrade the Vitreo-Retina Department at SSNC, a proposal
                                          has been submitted to Lions Clubs International. In line with
                                          the extension proposal Dr. Jatin Shah, the technical expert
                                          from Lions Clubs International visited SSNC on 11/07/2014.
                                          During his one day visit Dr. Shah assessed the efficacy of the
                                          proposed project and the services available at SSNC. He was
                                          welcomed by Dr. Vishnu Jobanputra, Director & Trustee SSSST
  Anandpur and Dr. B.K. Jain, Director & Trustee SSSST Chitrakoot. Dr. Shah discussed various aspects of
  the department with Dr. Jainendra Rahud, HOD Vitreo-Retina Department.

  ORBIS India Partner’s Workshop- 23rd – 24th Aug, 2014

  ORBIS India Partners’ Workshop was held on 23rd-

   Visit of a representative from Consulate-General of Japan: 28th Sep, 2014
   In-order to access the efficacy of a proposal for the
   Expansion of Department of Cataract and IOL submitted to
   The Consulate-General of Japan Mumbai, Ms. Mikiko Osaka
   Bothra, Development Consultant from GGP unit visited SSNC
   on 28th September 2014. Ms. Mikiko observed the existing
   facilities and services available at SSNC and had a short
   discussion with the SSNC team.

   Inauguration of Vision Centers: Jul-Sep, 2014

   Promotion of eye care services through fix facilities in the form of Vision Center plays an important role
   in blindness control programme. It provides follow-up services in the community itself and hence
   patients do not have to travel long distance to attend camp or base hospital, thus saving his energy and
   money. Three new vision centers were introduced by SSNC at Chanderi on 9/7/2014, Binaganj on
   15/9/2014 and Chipabadod on 22/9/2014 in district Ashok Nagar, Guna and Baran (Rajasthan)
   respectively. The Chipabadod center was inaugurated by respected Shri Govardhan Upadhyay, Trustee.

   Training of Asha and Anganwadi Workers under CFZ Programme:

   Sadguru Sankalp Netra Chikitsalaya has taken the initiative to make the two blocks –Lateri and Sironj of
   Vidisha district - Cataract Backlog Free Zone. Under this programme various training activities were
   carried out on 2nd Aug 2014, a workshop for Anganwadi workers from Lateri block was carried out at
   the Auditorium of SSNC. The workshop was attended by 223 Anganwadi workers. The chief guest for the
   function was Mr. Rajendra Khare District Programme Manager- NRHM Vidisha who in his guest speech
   highlighted the role of Anganwadi and Asha workers in such initiative. Dr. Rohini Mankikar-Pore,
   Ophthalmologist and Mr. Shakeel Ahmed, Program Manager-Vision center and Vision Technician
   Training Programme carried out the session. Dr. Naresh Waghel, BMO Lateri was also present at the
   occasion. The guests were welcomed by Mr. Ravi Upadhyay and Dr. Surendra Upadhyay.

   Another training session for ASHA Workers from Lateri block was carried out at SSNC on 10 Sep 2014 in
   which 114 got trained in house-hold survey and preliminary visual acuity measurement. The programme
   was coordinated by Mr. Shakeel Ahmed.

   In continuation to the training programme under CFZ, 131 Asha workers from Sironj Block were trained.
   The programme was organized at CHC Sironj. The chair-person for the session was Dr. R.L. Dinkar,BMO
   Sironj. Mr. Ravi Upadhyay from SSNC coordinated the training session.

  CMEs on Diabetic Retinopathy:

  In order to make the medical fraternity aware of various eye diseases and services available at the Trust
  with special emphasis on Diabetic Retinopathy, a series of CMEs were organized at Guna and Vidisha.
  On 3rd August 2014, CME was organized at Hotel Varun, Guna. The event was a joint effort of IMA Guna
  Branch and SSNC. The chairperson for the session was Dr. Y.S. Raghuwanshi, Civil Surgeon Guna. Dr.
  Jainendra Rahud, HOD-Vitreo Retina Department SSNC, in his brief presentation highlighted the
  symptoms and treatment for DR. 34 medical professionals or clinicians attended the CME. Dr. M.K. Jain,
  President and Dr. S.K. Jain, Secretary IMA Guna Branch were also present at the occasion. The event was
  coordinated by Mr. Milind Rawal, Sr. Program Manager SSNC.

  Another CME was organized on 21st August 2014 at Hotel Suraksha Vidisha. 51 medical professionals
  participated in the event which was successful in sensitizing the professionals about various eye diseases
  in general and Diabetic Retinopathy in particular. Dr. Jainendra Rahud presented a brief note on the
  symptoms and treatment facilities available at SSNC for DR. The CME was inaugurated by Shri
  Govardhan Upadhyay, Trustee; Dr. M.K. Jain, President IMA Vidisha Branch; Dr. Neerajshakti Nigam,
  President Doctor’s Forum Vidisha; Dr. Shantilal Pitaliya, President NIMA Vidisha and Shri Rameshwar
  Dayal Bansal from Sarvajanik Bhojnalaya Samiti Vidisha. Mr. Milind Rawal coordinated the CME and Mr.
  Ravi Upadhyay delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of SSNC.

                                          Inauguration of Sanskrit Pathshala: 12th Jul, 2014
                                         In order to promote Indian tradition of Guru-Shishya
                                         parampara and preserve Sanskrit language, newly built
                                         Sanskrit Pathshala at Shri Ramdas Hanuman Mandir was
                                         inaugurated on the occasion of Guru-Poonam on 12/7/2014 by
                                         Shri Rajendrabhai and Shri Suresh Upadhyay.       Respected
                                         Trustees Shri N.B. Lohani, Shri Govardhan Upadhyay, Dr.
                                         Vishnu Jobanputra, and Dr. B.K. Jain were also present at the
occasion along with the other devotees of Gurudev. The land for the Pathshala was donated by Shri
Suresh Upadhyay.
Independence Day Celebration:
15th August 2014, the Independence Day was celebrated at the
Trust. The main function was organized at Shri Sadguru Sankalp
Higher Secondary School (Smt. Shushilaben Arvindbhai Mafatlal
H.Sec. School). Smt. Ramaben Haryani from Jaipur was the chief
guest for the function. After the flag hoisting ceremony, cultural
programmes were organized by the school children. Shri
Govardhan Upadhyay, Trustee and Su. Ilaben Jobanputra was
present at the occasion.

  Visit of “Avo Amari Sathe Seva Trust Mumbai” members- 05th Sep, 2014

  A group of Gurubhais arrived on 5th September 2014 from
  Avo Amari Sathe Seva Trust – Sion, Mumbai for two days
  voluntary service. During their stay at the Trust, they
  provided valuable services and support for various activities
  performed by the Trust at Anandpur.

                                           Visit of Mr. Jaivardhan Singh:
                                           Mr. Jaivardhan Singh, MLA Raghogarh visited the Trust on 14th
                                           September 2014. During his short visit at the Trust he observed
                                           the services available at the Trust. He praised the efforts of all
                                           for doing such a tremendous work in rural and challenging
                                           location. He was welcomed at the Trust by respected Mr.
                                           Govardhan Upadhyay, Trustee. Mr. Ravi Upadhyay coordinated
  the visit.

Ramdas Hanuman Mandir Trust Activities - Anandpur

  Gauri Pujan and Jaya Parvati Vrat: 10th – 15th Jul, 2014
  Jaya Parvathi Vrat and Gauri Pujan were performed at the
  Prathana Bhavan from 10th-15th July 2014. 50 unmarried
  girls actively performed the pooja and carried out the Vrat
  under the kind guidance and support of Ila Ben Jobanputra,
  Smt. Bharti Ben Jobanputra and Smt. Dakshaben Bhatt. On
  the occasion of “Guru-Purnima” (12/7/2014) Guru pujan was
  performed at Shri Ramdas Hanuman Mandir by Dr. Vishnu
  Jobanputra. Respected Shri N.B. Lohani, Shri Govardhan Upadhyay, Dr. B.K.Jain and Shri Bharatbhai

Trust – Disaster Relief Fund

The death toll in Jammu & Kashmir's swamped districts from swirling waters of Jhelum, Chenab

and Tawi and their tributaries rose to 150 with at least 50 more fatalities reported from various

districts. Flood waters have knocked down buildings, snapped road and communication links,

and cut off many areas. In Srinagar, the cantonment, secretariat and the high court are

inundated.

Home minister Rajnath Singh reviewed the situation. He also appealed to all social

organisations and NGOs to mobilise their resources to help in rescue efforts.

Following our Gurudev’s values and priniciple of preventing and alleviating human suffering ,

with a vision to inspire, encourage, facilitate and promote at all times in all forms the

humanitarian activities, the Trust contributed Rs. 10,00,000 to the NGO ‘GOONJ’, New Delhi for

J&K Relief Fund.
