Ventura Community Cat Project Update – June 2021 June 1st is the start of Hurricane Season! Don’t wait for an emergency; get ready now! Prepare a Pet Emergency Supply Kit – 3 days of food and water; all medicines and medical records in a Ziploc bag; a collar with ID tags, harness or leash; crate or pet carrier with a blanket or familiar item and sanitation supplies such as litter box, litter, paper towels, trash bags, newspapers. Create a plan if an emergency comes up. Research pet friendly lodging, including family and friends, or boarding services. Never leave your pet behind! Stay informed about the types of emergencies in your area. Make sure your pet is up to date on vaccines and microchipped in case you are separated. If your pet has a microchip make sure the registration is up to date. It doesn’t help to have a chip if the owner can’t be located! Remember, it’s still KITTEN SEASON! If you see community cats in Ventura please call (203-253-1934) so we can trap/neuter/return them to the community for FREE!!! ATTENTION: A grant from Florida Animal Friend is making $25 spay/neuter surgeries available at SNiP-it Clinic to all cat owners in Osceola County or the Greater Orlando Area who are struggling financially. If you or anyone you know needs these services please go to www.letssnipit.org for more information or call 407-476-4748. Please to watch for information this autumn regarding the Central Florida Women’s Interclub; it may resume play in the 2021-2022 season. Information will be posted on the VCCLGA Bulletin Board in the Pro Shop and in VCCLGA News in the Venture in the fall. Summer Golf Season: Last summer, fewer lady golfers played in the slots reserved for the 18-Hole VCCLGA golfers on Thursday mornings. The Summer Season will run from June 2021 through September 2021. If the slots are not used, we will reduce the number of slots we have reserved. Remember ladies, call and fill those tee times if you want to keep them and play summer golf together. Enjoy your summer. COVID Rules: The big question is, “Will the COVID Rules change when the 2021-2022 golf season begins in October 2021?” Until the Pro Shop announces new procedures please continue to wear masks in the clubhouse; maintain social distancing in the clubhouse and on course tee boxes & putting greens; and wash your hands or use hand sanitizer regularly.
