PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
                        Spring is now finally here (or at least officially)! The warmer temperatures will now bring out our
                        budding trees and early season flowers.

                        February and March are the months of the Club’s fiscal year (which begins on May 1st) when the
                        Finance Committee reviews the Club’s financial position with Anthony and makes a dues
                        recommendation to the entire Board. The Board votes at our meeting in early March so that those
                        members who choose to pay their dues in one payment can be billed at the end of the month.
                       The Club has come through this pandemic year in a very solid financial condition. Increased golf
                       play, combined with continued new membership development, have us on track to overcome the
                       restaurant losses resulting from these continued pandemic constricted operations. During this
  Kiki Matthews same time, we have applied for several applicable state grants and federal tax credits that we are
                       qualified for. We recognize that some members are always concerned with any dues increases;
                       while others feel that we should charge more to have funds available to invest in needed projects.
The Board of Directors is aware and mindful of both sentiments. We continue to remain conservative with our finances,
and consequently, we are financially strong.
The Finance Committee recommended and the Board of Directors has approved a slight 3% dues increase to cover
the impacts of inflation. A Full Member’s dues will increase $8 a month. A CPT Member’s dues will increase $6 a month
and a Clubhouse Member’s dues will increase $3 a month. The Board of Directors feels that this increase is reasonable;
keeping the Club in a continued strong financial position, while enabling continued reinvestment in facilities and services.

                                                                             CLUB 36 IS BACK!

INTRODUCTION TO PICKLEBALL
Pickleball is one of the fastest growing adult sports in the country, and for good reason. It’s fun, social and easy
to learn. To help get started with the game, the Club offers you an introductory 4-session series for beginners
starting Saturday, May 1. The lessons are complimentary, but advance sign-up is requested for planning
purposes.
The Series is offered on Saturdays from 9:00am-10:30am, May 1 through May 22. If needed, a make-up rain
date is May 29. Each lesson builds on the previous week’s instruction so participation for the full series is most
beneficial. Attendance at the first lesson of the series is recommended to learn the basics. The lessons include
instruction, drills and organized play.
Reserve your spot by contacting Pam in the Tennis Office at 828-692-7744 and join the fun!

that reach sixty miles from the Alabama shoreline. Only a
select few Gulf Coast fishermen are licensed to harvest
Royal Reds, which are immediately frozen when they’re
brought on board because of the distances that Royal Red
shrimpers must travel. Royal Red Shrimp, whether bought
