testing you on Olympic events . . . but with a twist. We
will be hosting events such as three-legged race, 50-
yard dash, jump rope competition, tug of war, egg on a
spoon race, discus throw, and more. A point system will
be in place to proclaim the next winner of Kids Winter
Olympics. Participants will be competing in assigned age
groups. Medals will be awarded to the top three of each

Celebrate our nonhuman friends in this special class.
Whether you have pets or just love animals in general,
the little ones will love being able to make their own
paper accordion dog (just like Slinky from Toy Story)
and their own paper plate sheep. Both activities provide
a good opportunity to work on fine motor skills like
folding, cutting, and tearing with the sheep activity
also providing a sensory element with the cotton balls.

CALLING ALL LIFEGUARDS!
Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation wants YOU to
work as a certified lifeguard during our year-round
swimming season. We’re excited about building a
great team of professional lifeguards and therefore
reserve the right to hire only the most qualified
applicants for all positions and do not guarantee
employment based on training completion. This
course is a blended learning course format (19.5
hours in person, 7.5 hours online). The prerequisites
for this course include being 15 years of age and
having passed the precourse swimming skills test.

WSI Training Course:
Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Training prepares you to teach children and adults water safety, survival, and swimming
skills. Water safety instructors are in high demand and teaching people to swim is a fun, rewarding part-time job for
people of all ages. Upon completion of the WSI course, participants will be certified to teach American Red Cross
swimming lessons. This blended learning course includes an online portion that must be completed prior to the first day
of class as well as instructor-led classroom instruction skills session.

                      the route to aide runners along the way. Participants that are registered
                      before December 15th will receive a Frosty Frolics Fun Run/Walk t-shirt.
                      Runner check-in and day-of registration will be available starting at 8:00
