CALLING ALL LIFEGUARDS!
Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation Department
wants YOU to work as a certified lifeguard during
our year-round swimming season. We’re excited
about building a great team of professional
lifeguards and therefore, reserve the right to hire
only the most qualified applicants for all positions
and do not guarantee employment based on
training completion. This course is a blended
learning course format (19.5 hours in person, 7.5
hours online). The prerequisites for this course
include being 15 years of age and having passed
the precourse swimming skills test. For more

WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR COURSE
MIDCO® AQUATIC CENTER
This dynamic American Red Cross course teaches the dedicated individual how to instruct infants, children, and adults
in water safety and swimming lessons. Water Safety Instructors are in high demand and teaching people to swim is a
fun, rewarding part-time job for people of all ages. Upon completion of the WSI course, participants will be certified
to teach American Red Cross swimming lessons. A major portion of this class will be done online using the blended
