The Market
The Altai region is the largest cereal producer in the Russian Federation: the
total agricultural area of the region is 11.6 million hectares which are situated in
seven different climate zones. The main fields of arable farming are cereal culti-
vation, forage production, oilseed cultivation, horticulture and vegetable growing.
In 2018, a third of all Siberian grain was produced in the Altai region - 5.35 million
tons. The region accounted for 98% of sunflower seed production in the Siberian
administrative district. It is the only region beyond the Urals where sugar beet is
grown.
Livestock is also a priority for the agriculture sector of the region. In terms of dairy
and beef cattle, the region is among the five largest in the country.
In the region, there are various federal and regional programs to provide
support to agricultural producers. The interest of domestic and foreign producers
to the region is very high due to its high growth potential and proximity to the
countries of Central and Southeast Asia.
The Exhibition and the Forum
The exhibition AgroExpoSiberia experiences a comeback as a traditional platform
for professionals of plant production and animal husbandry in the Altai region - the
agricultural centre of Siberia.
In 2019, manufacturers and suppliers presented a wide range of technology,
new technologies and services in the fields of agricultural machinery, crop culti-
vation and animal husbandry to 2,060 professionals from regions of Altai, Tomsk,
Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Moscow, Belgorod, and Voronezh. The Forum „Agricul-
ture of Siberia: Present and Future“ with over 15 events took place for the first
time during the exhibition.
In 2020, leading companies from Russia and abroad will use this platform to
present their products to local farmers and to discuss the most important topics of
agriculture during the Forum. Do not miss the opportunity to join them!
