    Remaining in an Evacuation Order Area puts your life and the life of our crews at risk!

Gilmore Lake Wildfire (R22298), part of the Babine Complex, Northwest Fire Centre
Location: 2.5 kilometers south of Gilmore Lake and 8 kilometers southwest of Topley
Status: 200 hectares estimated as of this morning.
Size: 216 hectares
Cause: lightning
Resources: 52 firefighters and 13 pieces of heavy equipment.
Current Activity: This fire is 100% contained. Sunset Road is holding on the eastern flank. Crews will mop up spots along the south
flank and on southeast corner, as well as establishing control lines on northwest and north flank.
Evacuations: The Bulkley Nechako Regional District has implemented an Evacuation Order and Evacuation Alert for this fire. For

Verdun Wildfire (R11796)
Location: 10 km southwest of Grassy Plains
Status: 6,328 hectares
Cause: lightning
Resources: 47 firefighters and 15 pieces of heavy equipment.
Status: The Verdun Wildfire was holding on many of the guards. The north guard and Takysie Lake guard were holding but the fire
has advanced towards Innis Lake as a long finger burned in continuous fuels, Rank 3 and Rank 4, just north of Cheslatta Road. The
fire produced a column in the southeast area. Guard at Keefe’s Landing Road is holding.
Objectives: Crews will continue to mop up on the southwest edge of the fire and work to establish containment around the fire.
Evacuations: The Evacuation Alert and Order was expanded for this wildfire yesterday by the Bulkley Nechako Regional District. For

Nadina Lake Wildfire (R21721)
Location: 60km south of Houston
Status: 33,017 hectares
Cause: lightning
Resources: 27 firefighters and 54 pieces of heavy equipment.
Status: Crews were challenged on this fire with the head of the fire moving to the east between the lakes. The head of the fire was
25 km wide, Rank 5, burning to the northeast last night. Crews were building guards to Owen Lake and near Nadina Mountain. The
fire did cross the Ootsa-Nadina Road.
Objectives: Crews will mop up along control lines, continue to bunch along roadways to remove danger trees (establishing
machine guards), as well as plan and construct contingency lines.
Evacuations: The Bulkley Nechako Regional District has implemented an Evacuation Order and Evacuation Alert for this fire. For

Shovel Lake Wildfire (R11498)
Location: 6.7 km north of Endako
Status: 50,831 hectares estimated
Cause: under investigation
Resources: 118 firefighters and 47 pieces of heavy equipment.
Objectives: Today on the west flank crews will be conducting a planned ignition from the intersection of the Owl Lake Road and
Bomberger along a guard that is being completed to Stern Lake on the north side of Tatin Lake.
Status: The Shovel Lake fire pushed approximately 5-7 kilometres on the east flank. The Cunningham FSR has not been breached
and Hwy 27 is still open at this time. Structural Protection is being conducted in the community of Fort St. James and in the
Nadleh Whut'en community.
On the southeast flank the fire burned down to the PNG pipeline to the north of Fraser Lake.
Evacuations: An Evacuation Order and Alert remains in effect for this wildfire by the Bulkley Nechako Regional District. For more

BC Wildfire Service continues to implement an Area Order Restriction to protect public safety due to the wildfire’s rate of spread
and to avoid interference with fire suppression efforts. The area restriction will remain in place until noon on Sept. 15, 2018, or
until the order is rescinded. The area restriction order applies to all Crown land outlined on the map (including recreational

Island Lake Wildfire (R11921)
Location: Adjacent to Island Lake
Status: 13,000 hectares, size adjustment is due to guards being established.
Cause: Under investigation
Resources: 13 firefighters and 26 pieces of heavy equipment.
Objectives: Fire activity picked up in the centre of the fire last night. Crews were to build guard and felt confident that they had
put in enough guard to hold for the night and they would be reassessing in this morning. Crews are staging from the Anzus Lake
area.
Evacuations: The Bulkley Nechako Regional District has implemented an Evacuation Order and Alert for this wildfire. For more

Cheslaslie Arm (R12270)
Cheslaslie Arm (R12270), part of the Babine Complex, Northwest Fire Centre
Location: 18 km west of Jim Smith Point on the Oostsa Reservoir.
Status: 1000 hectares estimated
Cause: Under investigation
Resources: This fire is being resourced by Industry.
Objectives: No report that industry has returned to this fire.

Fire Weather Forecast
Wednesday –Sunny with cloudy periods, winds variable 5-10 km/h becoming SW-W 8-15 km/h in the
afternoon with NW-N early evening and variable by late evening. High temperatures 25°C and minimum
RH 32%.
Thursday – Weak ridge to the west brings a sunny day with light wind to allow near freezing temperatures.
Winds SW-W 15-20km/h with some gusts in the afternoon. High temperatures 24°C and humidity in the
low 20’s.
Outlook –The mainly sunny skies continue. Winds NW 20km/h with gusts up to 30 with high temperatures
in the low 20’s and minimum RH in the high 20’s.

               please be cautious, patient and turn your headlights on.
