(Munich – 19:00 CET, 2nd March 2020) The ultimate expression of the world’s first luxury electric
hyper GT, the Battista Anniversario, has been unveiled. Battista Anniversario is a tribute to iconic
designer Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina and marks 90 years since the legendary Pininfarina coachbuilder and
design house was created. Combining beautiful Pininfarina design with unprecedented performance
from its pure-electric, zero-emissions powertrain, just five cars will be available, each priced from
€2.6 million. The most powerful road car ever designed and built in Italy, Battista Anniversario will
be hand-crafted by Pininfarina in Cambiano, Turin.

Michael Perschke, Chief Executive Officer, Automobili Pininfarina: “For 90 years, the Pininfarina name
has been at the forefront of automotive design and performance, and the Battista hypercar honours
this rich tradition. The Battista Anniversario is the distillation of everything that the brand has stood
for in the past and which we now strive for in the future, creating a new pinnacle of desirability for
sustainable and luxurious pure-electric cars.”

AUTOMOBILI PININFARINA BATTISTA:
THE WORLD’S FIRST PURE-ELECTRIC
LUXURY HYPER GT
The Battista is the first in a range of pure-electric, zero-emissions luxury cars solely branded
Pininfarina, delivering on a long-held family dream that was started by founder, Battista ‘Pinin’
Farina, carried forward by his son Sergio, and now his grandson Paolo, the current Pininfarina SpA
Chairman.

A carbon fibre monocoque chassis and body provide the foundation for the extreme levels of
technology and functional, elegant and driver-focused design solutions at the heart of the Battista.
Four electric motors provide up to 1,900 hp and up to 2,300 Nm torque, apportioned to each wheel
by a technologically advanced torque vectoring system.

This delivers a level of performance that is unachievable today in any road-legal sportscar with an
internal combustion engine. Faster than a current Formula 1 car in the sub-two second 0-100 km/h
sprint, the Battista accelerates from 0 to 300 km/h in less than 12 seconds. With performance-
oriented tyres, Battista achieves its top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph).

These unprecedented levels of performance are delivered alongside a zero-emissions range of over
500 km on a single charge, and an overriding focus on drivability in all situations. The suspension is
tuned to deliver a thrilling, engaging and yet comfortable on-road dynamic experience as befits the
car’s brief as an extreme hypercar, but with GT credentials that will make every Battista drive a
thrilling experience.

DESIGN: A PURE-ELECTRIC HYPER GT INSPIRED BY GLORIOUS HERITAGE

Never has a new brand and its first car been launched with such an emotive past, relevance for the
present, and potential for the future. The Battista embodies timeless design as a piece of art.

The aesthetics of Battista are the result of a meticulous brief created by the Automobili Pininfarina
Design Team, led by Luca Borgogno. Taking inspiration from past Pininfarina masterpieces such as
the Cisitalia 202, Ferrari Dino Berlinetta Speciale and Ferrari Modulo, the Battista offers the perfect
balance between elegant beauty and technological innovation.

Concealing ground-breaking technology beneath a beautiful body has long been in Pininfarina DNA.
The pure, sculpted surfaces of the 1,900 hp pure electric Battista take this approach to a new level.

The Battista’s classic teardrop shape, a signature feature of many of the most famous Pininfarina
designs, is defined by a simple accent line that encircles the car, visually linking the front ‘floating
wing’ with the rear wing. The rear wing appears to be in two sections, each ultra-thin and edged with
LED lights, adding aesthetic appeal to its strong functional purpose of creating significant levels of
downforce as well as acting as an airbrake.

Automobili Pininfarina | press@automobili-pininfarina.com | www.automobili-pininfarina.com 3/12
UNDER STRICT EMBARGO: 19:00 CET 02 MARCH 2020

Luca Borgogno, Chief Design Officer, Automobili Pininfarina: “Battista Anniversario features one of
the most complex paint finishes in the world. The process of creating such a finish is akin to a great
artist completing an Old Master painting. The result is more than just a visual work of art. Styling,
balanced with ultimate performance, produces a genuine Pininfarina: the beauty of power and the
power of beauty.”

The Battista’s cabin, easily accessed by butterfly wing-style doors, has a purity of purpose that
seamlessly matches the exterior design. The interior interface is totally driver-centric with a
‘vanishing point’ concept for the main dashboard display to focus the driver’s attention.

Ongoing development has resulted in a new steering wheel, with improved control layout and better
visibility for the driver, and the addition of a digital rear-view mirror enables an unobstructed wide-
range view behind the vehicle.

In a change over the car shown at Geneva in 2019, the charging socket has moved to below the rear
wing for better accessibility and usability. Automobili Pininfarina’s signature E-Heart – the pulsating
light behind the rear screen – remains.

PERFORMANCE: THE MOST POWERFUL ITALIAN CAR EVER

The Battista can call on more power than any road-legal Italian car before it, with total output of
1,900 hp (1,400 kW) and 2,300 Nm of torque. The T-shaped liquid-cooled 120 kWh lithium-ion
battery pack’s weight distribution is configured to optimise the car’s driving dynamics. Four motors
independently distribute the prodigious power to each wheel through an advanced torque vectoring
system that delivers infinitely variable dynamic responses, ensuring the focus is on drivability in all
situations, befitting the car’s GT demeanour. The car’s behaviour can be tailored for different drivers,
roads and weather conditions by selecting from a range of driving modes.

The Battista can accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in under 2.0 seconds, faster than a Formula 1
car, while 0-300 km/h (186 mph) is targeted at under 12 seconds. Top speed is 330 km/h (205 mph)
or 350 km/h (217 mph) with the new ‘Impulso’ forged aluminium wheels and performance-oriented
tyres, available as an option on all cars and first shown on the Battista Anniversario.

The entire monocoque shell, as well as all the body panels, are carbon fibre, while a strong T-shaped
carbon frame houses the 120 kWh battery pack, mounted low down in the chassis.

390 mm carbon ceramic discs with six-piston cast and painted monobloc callipers provide powerful
fade-free deceleration and effective brake regeneration to the battery.

One element of the Battista yet to be revealed is its authentic sound signature. An international team
of vehicle and sound engineers is working to devise one that fulfils all the necessary criteria – while
being appropriately emotive for the most powerful road car ever to come out of Italy. A preview of
the sound strategy for Battista can be seen here: www.youtube.com

CONNECTIVITY: MOST CONNECTED HYPERCAR

To deliver a world-class digital experience to customers, Battista comes with a technologically
advanced online infotainment system. The Battista will offer an extensive portfolio of digital services
including real-time navigation, music streaming and an advanced telemetry system. The in-car
infotainment system can be upgraded ‘over the air’ to keep it updated over its lifetime. To enable
these services, Battista is equipped with an eSIM connecting it to the internet in more than
50 countries. Taking the digital experience to a new dimension, Battista can be controlled remotely
via a bespoke new app, which will also serve as a holistic solution for a range of vehicle services.

COMFORT AND CHARGING: 500 KM RANGE

Battista’s range on a single charge has increased from an estimated 450 km (280 miles) to a simulated
WLTP range of over 500 km (310 miles), thanks to an aerodynamics development programme that
included time for Battista in the renowned Pininfarina SpA wind tunnel in 2019. The impressive range
is relevant to the majority of potential journeys, as most owners are expected to charge the car where
it is garaged, and it will have the capability for DC fast charging. App-based charging networks will
ensure drivers who undertake long journeys will be well supported.

True to its positioning as a hyper GT, Battista features additional comfort features such as front and
rear lift, electronically adjustable, heated seats with lumbar adjustment (on standard seats), a
surround-view camera system and park distance control front and rear.

TESTING AND DEVELOPMENT: AN EXCEPTIONAL HYPERCAR NEEDS EXCEPTIONAL TEST DRIVERS

Over the past 12 months, the Battista has been subject to intensive aerodynamic, safety and structural
simulation. Battista’s dynamic testing phase is now under way under the direction of Sportscar Director
René Wollmann, formerly responsible for the Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar, with Automobili
Pininfarina Test and Development Driver, and Formula E driver, Nick Heidfeld.

Nick Heidfeld, Test and Development Driver, Automobili Pininfarina: “I have piloted the quickest road
and race cars in the world. I’ve never driven anything as powerful as the Battista. The Battista is faster
than many race cars, but it is not a pure racing machine. Drivability in all situations is its primary
focus. We will now concentrate our time testing and developing Battista to deliver a car that’s at the
forefront of technological possibilities and innovation.”

Battista final prototype cars are soon to commence dynamic and durability testing, ahead of initial
client test drives in the summer. Extensive development work has already been completed in special
mule cars developed for the purpose with Automobili Pininfarina’s powertrain partner, Rimac.

Wearing a specially designed wrap – one as unique as the car itself – the prototypes will be rigorously
tested across a range of different environments and climates, including demanding test locations
such as the Nardo high-speed track in Italy and renowned proving grounds in Spain.

René Wollmann, Sportscar Director, Automobili Pininfarina: “The mule vehicles running the chassis
and powertrain concepts for Battista have already achieved 80 per cent of their performance
capability without issue. This means that our EV performance is already equal to the most powerful
combustion engine-powered hypercar currently in the world.

Automobili Pininfarina | press@automobili-pininfarina.com | www.automobili-pininfarina.com 5/12
UNDER STRICT EMBARGO: 19:00 CET 02 MARCH 2020

“In the next six months, we will progress to delivering a thrilling pure-electric hypercar that seamlessly
produces 1,900 hp and 2,300 Nm torque across a range of driving modes to suit varying
environments. Our clients cannot wait to experience this performance alongside Nick Heidfeld in the
first customer drives.”

The dynamic testing comes after a year of work on simulators, in the wind tunnel and using CFD
software that has taken the Battista to almost full representativeness of the final production version
today.

PERSONALISATION: CREATING UNIQUE AUTOMOTIVE ICONS OF THE FUTURE

Each Battista is a canvas upon which owners can, with assistance from the masters of design in
Cambiano and Turin, create their own bespoke hypercar. With almost endless opportunities to
personalise the exterior and interior through colours, materials and finishes, Automobili Pininfarina
expects that each of the 150 cars will be unique.

One newly introduced option is the ‘Furiosa’ package, now available to specify with any Battista,
comprising a revised carbon fibre front splitter, side blades, rear diffuser, a bespoke rear wing, rear
aero fins and other bespoke details. The aerodynamic enhancements of the ‘Furiosa’ package deliver
increased downforce and greater stability at higher cornering speeds and a more dynamic balance
to the car.

The Battista comes with a three years/100,000 km warranty and costs from €1.98 million net.

BATTISTA ANNIVERSARIO: CELEBRATING
90 YEARS OF ICONIC PININFARINA DESIGN
With just five examples to be made, the Battista Anniversario honours 90 years of Pininfarina design
and is destined to become one of the world’s most exclusive automobiles. The celebratory
Anniversario takes the pure-electric Battista hyper GT and adds a new level of dynamic ability and a
bespoke heritage-influenced livery so perfectly integrated into the body design that it becomes part
of the design itself.

Paolo Pininfarina, Chairman, Pininfarina SpA: “My grandfather always had the vision that one day
there would be a stand-alone range of Pininfarina-branded cars. The Battista Anniversario, named in
his honour to mark 90 years of the carrozzeria that he started, is a glorious way to link our past with
the future of motoring.”

UNDER STRICT EMBARGO: 19:00 CET 02 MARCH 2020

DESIGN: HAND-CRAFTED ITALIAN ARTISTRY AT ITS MOST ICONIC

Each of the five Anniversario cars is finished in an exclusive Pininfarina anniversary livery. It
comprises a combination of three signature colours: Bianco Sestriere, the never-seen-before Grigio
Antonelliano, and Automobili Pininfarina’s signature Iconica Blu. Skilled artisans at Pininfarina SpA
take three weeks to paint each car, building up the finish layer-by-layer and colour-by-colour – all by
hand. After each coat, the body must be disassembled so pinstripes in the three separate colours
can be hand-painted directly onto the body. Three times the body must be taken apart and then
reassembled during the painting process.

Luca Borgogno, Chief Design Officer, Automobili Pininfarina: “This is arguably one of the most
complex hand-made paint finishes in the world. The process of creating such a finish is little short of
a great artist completing an Old Master painting. The result is more than just a visual work of art.
Styling, balanced with ultimate performance, produces a genuine Pininfarina: the beauty of power
and the power of beauty.”

AERODYNAMICS: SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL

Battista Anniversario is also equipped with the ‘Furiosa’ package, comprising a revised carbon fibre
front splitter, side blades and rear diffuser. Exclusively on the Anniversario, these parts are finished
in a two-tone combination of exposed signature carbon and carbon tinted in Iconica Blu with pin
stripes in Bianco Sestriere. Besides the exclusive livery, a bespoke rear wing, rear aero fins and other
bespoke details are unique to the Battista Anniversario. The aerodynamic enhancements deliver
increased downforce and greater stability at higher cornering speeds and a more dynamic balance
to the car.

The Anniversario’s handling dynamism is further sharpened by a reduction in unsprung weight of
almost 10 kg, thanks to a new wheel design which features centre-lock forged aluminium wheels.
The rear wheels grow from 20-inch to 21-inch. Together with the performance-oriented tyres, the
new rims enable the car to achieve its top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph). The optional ‘Impulso’
wheels complement the options programme available for Battista.

SPECIFICATION: PUTTING THE ANNIVERSARIO IN A CLASS OF ITS OWN

On Anniversario, the wheels are finished in satin dark grey with the centre-lock rings and outer edges
of the ‘f’ badge anodized in Iconica Blu. The Brembo brake callipers are finished in Iconica Blu and
the writing on the tyre sidewalls is picked out in white.

On the interior, the car is trimmed in black sustainable luxury leather and black Alcantara with
stitching in black and Iconica Blu. The brushed aluminum detailing is anodized in Iconica Blu, while
the steering wheel is clad in black sustainable luxury leather and exposed signature carbon.
As another bespoke element on Anniversario, the cupholder retainer is finished in brushed aluminum
anodized in Iconica Blu.

The new seat design, now available as an option on all vehicles, features rear backrests, seat shoulder
inserts and inlays finished in exposed signature carbon tinted in Iconica Blu. Exclusive to
‘Anniversario’ is the combination of quilting in Iconica Blu and layered two-tone perforation on black
Alcantara over Iconica Blu fabric.

engraving, ‘Anniversario’ script on the side wings, signature ‘Pininfarina 90’ logos, black anodized
dedication door plaques with a homage to the founding of Carrozzeria Pinin Farina in 1930 and a
specially engraved chassis plate between the seats.

The Battista Anniversario is priced from €2.6 million.
