The launch of the Radisson Blu sponsored West of
Ireland took place in the Radisson Blu on the 20th of
March. Defending champion Rob Brazill kindly
attended and he is pictured here with the 1979
champion David Long. A lovely evening took place in
the wonderful recently refurbished ball room. David
and Rob were presented with gifts on behalf of the
                        club.

The dream came through for TJ Ford according
to his twitter account. Handsome Jack and a lad
called Sean Flanagan. Well what must he have
thought when handsome Jack failed a fitness
test and had to withdraw. Who would they be
joined by? None other than our own Eoin
Gaughan who had made it through the
        qualifiers. Draw made in heaven.

Radisson Blu Sligo. Sponsors of the West of Ireland since 2007

Thank you, Thank you,
Thank you to all those
who volunteered and
helped out in making our
2019 West of Ireland such
a fantastic event. The
West was Categorised as a
C ranking event which
means we have moved
Caolan Rafferty from Dundalk became the
from E in 2017 to D in 97th winner of the West of Ireland last
Sunday but the first strokeplay winner.
2018 and now to C. Caolon is also the current South of Ireland
                                                  Champion
The Flags of the 32 counties, the European flag, our national flag, the
English, Welsh, Scottish, French and American Flags were all flown on
the promenade for the duration of the West of Ireland. The plan is to
use the National flags again together with flags from all nations
represented at the Irish Amateur Open in mid May. County Sligo
previously hosted the Irish Amateur Open in 1950. The event was
won by Joe Carr who beat our own Cecil Ewing in the final. Records
show that 116 players entered the tournament. The Irish Amateur
Open was not played for between 1959 and 1995. Thanks to Sean Will this
Muldoon, Keith Collery and Ian Flanagan for putting the flags up and ever get
to all in the Rosses Point Development Assossiation who do great
                                                                                 sorted?
work for the whole village community.

        Gerry and Cath Rahilly
practicing their waltzing down
under, Lady Melody would be
               very impressed.
Club House
Renovations

• Lots of Positive comments about
the renovations to our club house. As
the days get longer it will offer
members and visitors more
opportunities to enjoy our facilities.
And you can now buy coffee at the bar.
Michael Kennedy and Tom Kenny are
just not paying attention to what
Gerry is saying.
