Camp is fun in the sun – and so much more!

Away from home in the caring environment of summer camp, girls learn and grow so much. They take
responsibility for caring for themselves. They contribute in a group environment, pursuing things that are
meaningful to them. They discover the best version of themselves. Camp is uniquely suited for supporting this
growth based on independence, new opportunities, and a warm community.

Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas summer camps are spaces for friendship and sisterhood. All of our sites offer
classic camp experiences like archery, arts & crafts, team building, swimming, campfires, sing-alongs, and
games. As a girl grows in the program, they have the opportunity to take the lead with meaningful mentorship
from amazing role models. Each property has its own special identity and collection of offerings. Details for
each camp property can be found on their page of this guide.

into camp for Girl Scout Seniors. Girls have all the fun of the full camp experience with their peers while
practicing leadership skills and contributing to the entire camp community. Throughout the week, CIT/MITs and
Wranglers-in-Training (WITs) get to mentor a group of younger girls and/or assist with daily camp activities.
They also get intentional teambuilding and challenge activities that help them reflect on who they want to be,
develop their voices, and grow their service to others. Plus, as older girls, they get some special privileges and
chances to choose activities.

Determining whether a girl is ready to come to camp
is a family responsibility based on these expectations:

                                                • Girl has successfully spent nights away from home
in the past and can get herself to sleep at night.

                                                • Girl wants to eat, sleep, and play in a diverse group

or other direct updates) – this is a chance for girls to
