Background
The City of Parramatta is seeking to appoint the provider/s and operator/s of Amusements for the following
events:
New Year’s Eve 2018, 2019 and 2020 – Parramatta Park
Australia Day 2019, 2020 and 2021 – Parramatta Park
City of Parramatta will engage successful suppliers on a 1‐year contract with two (2) options to extend for an
additional year, each based on an annual post‐event review of key performance indicators (KPI’s) – see below.
While it is preferred that the successful supplier/suppliers will provide all attractions for the event that they
are awarded, other suppliers may be subcontracted to successfully meet requirements. The successful
applicant will be fully responsible for managing all contractors/subcontractors.
Quoting Submissions
Applicants are asked to provide submissions for the events listed that they are interested in servicing. In your
submissions please:
1. Indicate the event/s you are quoting on with a separate section dedicated to each event;
2. Provide a company profile and an available product range including images of all amusements.
3. Within your company profile please provide examples of other major events you have previously
serviced and include the details for two (2) referees that we may contact.
4. Indicate the Amusements you would recommend to service each event according to the amounts
requested for the areas indicated in the event details sections below;
5. Indicate the commission (flat dollar rate ex GST) you are prepared to pay the City of Parramatta
for operation at each event on an ongoing annual basis – for the 2018, 2019 and 2020 NYE events
and/or the 2019, 2020 and 2021 Australia Day events.
6. Provide Public Liability Insurance details and Workers Compensation Insurance details ‐ please
forward us certificates of currency with your quote/s. (Public liability insurance cover must be for
a minimum of $10, 000, 000 per instance.)
Submissions should be less than 5MB in size.
All quotes must be submitted no later than 10.00 am, Tuesday 10 July 2018 and should be emailed to
events@cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au

Liaison with the City of Parramatta Major Events Team as required (phone and email) and
attendance at planning meetings (including on site) and debrief meetings;
Management of the timely and safe bump in and out (including management of vehicles and
timings) of all amusements in accordance with an agreed Production Schedule;
Provision of signage providing information on operational timing and ticket sales as agreed with
City of Parramatta.
Overseeing safety requirements for the management and operation of all amusements including
the provision of any safety‐related signage.
On site operation in accordance with agreed operational times.
On site liaison with City of Parramatta event management staff for the purposes of the resolution
of any issues related to power supply, queue management, general layout and positioning and
general operations.
Operation in strict accordance with the times agreed to with City of Parramatta for each event
and in the areas agreed to.
Provision of all paperwork as required including Safe Work Method Statements, WorkCover
Certifications for rides/machinery, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Workplace Health and
Safety Management Systems.
Selection Criteria
Quotes will be assessed on:
Pricing and value for money (with respect to commission)
Ride options listed
Experience and references
Confirmed ability to provide all safety related documentation and certification as detailed above
All proposals will be evaluated by a panel. The City of Parramatta aims to make appointments in the last week
of July, 2018.
The City of Parramatta reserves the right to not appoint a provider/operator of Amusements resulting from
submissions. Following the appointment of a provider/providers the City of Parramatta reserves the right to
change the parameters of each event as detailed below.

A. New Year’s Eve
Event Details
Event Date/s: 31 December
Event Location: Parramatta Park
Event Start: 4.00 pm
Event Finish: 10.00 pm (soft closure from 9.15 pm with food and amusements remaining open until 10.00 pm
but with no entertainment scheduled from 9.15 am to 10.00 pm)
General Event Description: Parramatta New Year’s Eve is a major event produced by City of Parramatta
Council and attracts a family‐friendly crowd of up to 65,000 people, to watch the stage performances (from
6.00 pm) and the 9.00 pm fireworks.
The main stage is in the Crescent Amphitheatre (central area) – “The Crescent”, with activations either side
(the Long Paddock (West) – “Carnival on the Green”; Coronation Hill – “The Picnic Lawns” and the Pavilion Flats
area (East) – “The Fairground”), consisting of food, amusement rides, live stage performance and roving
entertainment. The “Food Village” area sits above the Crescent. Please refer to the 2017 site plans below
(Maps 1 ‐ 5).
Crowd Attendance: Crowd numbers increase until 8.30 pm in anticipation of the 9.00 pm Fireworks display.
Estimated peak crowd of 65, 000 people for fireworks viewing.
Fireworks Display: The NYE fireworks spectacular is the premier fireworks display for the City of Parramatta
and is the finale for NYE event celebrations in Parramatta Park. It follows immediately on from the stage
headline acts and, along with the accompanying soundtrack, is aimed at building on the atmosphere generated
by the stage performances.

Amusement Ride Layout and Specifics: The City of Parramatta would like to provide Amusements in two main
areas in Parramatta Park for NYE as per Map 1 below:
A Western Area – “Carnival on the Green”
An Eastern Area – “The Fairground”
Carnival on the Green
The Carnival on the Green area in the western part of the park will house the larger style rides (dodgems,
slides, inflatables). Please provide a list of 8 ‐ 14 large Amusements that you would place in this area. Refer to
Map 2 – Carnival on the Green Site (Area approx. 20, 000 m2). You may also indicate what other options you
have available for this area.
The Fairground
The Fairground area in the Eastern part of the park will house the smaller style rides suitable for younger
children. Please provide a list of 7 ‐ 10 smaller Amusements that you would place in this area. Refer to Map 3 –
Fairground Site (Area approx. 2, 500 m2). You may also indicate what other options you have available for this
area.

Event Details
Event Date/s: 26 January
Event Location: Parramatta Park
Event Start: 6.00 am
Event Finish: 9.15 pm
General Background and Event Description:
Australia Day is a 15‐hour free public event that has been running in Parramatta for 30 years.
The event primarily attracts a family audience, however new components such as CARnivale and the Big BBQ
attract a broader demographic.
Australia Day is made up of the following components (refer also to the 2018 Site Plan below – Map 1):
Fireworks Display: The fireworks spectacular is the culmination of Australia Day celebrations. It follows
immediately on from the headline act of the Concert. The sound‐track and fireworks will build on the
atmosphere generated by the concert and form the finale of the show.
Crowd Attendance: 60, 000 across the day
Amusement Rides Layout and Specifics: The City of Parramatta would like a supplier to provide Amusements
in one main eastern area as per Map 1 below.
Kids Rides (Eastern side of the Park)
Please provide a list of eleven (11) amusements that you would place in this area including a mix of
larger and smaller rides. Refer to Map 2 – Kids Rides Site (Area approx. 4, 500m2). You may also
indicate what other options you have available for this area.
