2From our Chair
Kia ora ANCAD friends,
Since March 2021, the ANCAD Board has faced the challenge of accepting
Yvonne Powley’s resignation and the search for a new manager. The legacy
Yvonne leaves after 13 years in the job is immense.
The former NSCSS was a forgotten and almost irrelevant entity. Now
ANCAD, the successor, has huge community credibility and value to the
not-for-profit sector. This is Yvonne’s work endorsed and supported by an
ANCAD Board of talented and knowledgeable volunteers.
We extend our warmest best wishes and thanks to Yvonne for her service.
On all fronts, ANCAD projects carry on under the management of our
skilled staff. We have welcomed Simon Ritchie to the team to manage 5
Good Ideas and publications. Simon will pick up other project tasks as they
arise. He is a great asset to the team.
The strong reputation we have in the governance and NFP sector is BRIAN PUTT
demonstrated by the invitation for ANCAD to assist and guide two new CHAIR, ANCAD BOARD
Council projects.
First, a review of the old Civil Defence model and focussing it to achieve
a community base. With the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board, we are
involved in the early planning of the Community Resilience Planning
Project. Join in and come to the initial meeting at the Mary Thomas Centre
on 21 April 2021. This is a truly community project.
Second, is a Strategic Relationship Pilot Project to help the Council
strengthen its insights and relationships within the NFP sector across the
region. Much more on this as the year rolls out.
Keep well and safe,
Brian Putt

Critical Incident Stress Management Awareness:
Group Crisis Intervention
2 Day Intensive Training
The CISM Group Crisis Intervention training programme presents the core elements of a

well as the need for appropriate follow-up services and referrals. The course
highlights the difference between internationally- accepted protocols in the area of
post-incident support (and prepares individuals to provide these interventions) and
