A NEW LOOK FOR TSAWWASSEN FIRST NATION ONLINE
TsawwassenFirstNation.com has a brand new look!
The website was overhauled to meet the needs of
both Members and leaseholders on Tsawwassen
Lands.
The front page has a calendar and quicklinks to
commonly searched-for webpages. Members are
often looking for local government services, fishing
and hunting cards, and enrolment information.
Leaseholders no longer have to look for how to pay
their taxes, find permits or licenses, or where to
enquire about a compliance and enforcement issue.
Beyond these content and structure changes to
the website, we’ve also overhauled the colours and
fonts to reflect our branding and visual identity.

TSAWWASSEN MEMBERS, TFN GOVERNMENT NEEDS YOUR INPUT!

Tsawwassen Government invites Members to an information session on the proposed WesPac Tilbury
Marine Jetty Project (Project), facilitated by TFN’s Policy and Intergovernmental Affairs department
and LGL Limited (biological and environmental consultants).

The proponent, WesPac, is proposing to build a marine jetty adjacent to the existing FortisBC
liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility on Tilbury Island in the Fraser River (within Tsawwassen
territory). The project would allow for the transfer of LNG from that facility to barges and ocean-
going vessels. The proposed Project began its environmental review in 2015.

Topics on the agenda include a Project description and overview of impacts, including an overview of
other Projects proposed in the area. This is also an opportunity for TFN Members to raise questions
and provide feedback on preferred next steps.

DINNER & HONORARIUM WILL BE PROVIDED TO MEMBERS

Tsawwassen Government invites TFN Members to an information session on the proposed Roberts
Bank Terminal 2 project (RBT2), facilitated by TFN’s Policy and Intergovernmental Affairs
  department.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide Members with an update on the RBT2 project proposal, of
the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, to construct and operate a new three-berth marine container
terminal located at Roberts Bank, adjacent to Tsawwassen Lands. The Project, if approved, would
provide an additional 2.4 million twenty-foot equivalent units of container capacity per year at
Roberts Bank. TFN has been involved in the Environmental Assessment for the project since
November 2013, when the assessment process first began.

     Health Alert: Heartburn Product Recall
Health Canada is recalling heartburn medication because
they may have been manufactured with an ingredient that
     could be a cancer-causing agent.
Regulators in Canada have reported the presence of an
impurity called N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), in low
     levels in ranitidine products.
NDMA is classified as a probable human carcinogen,
meaning long-term exposure to levels above what is
considered safe could increase the risk of cancer.
Four companies, Apotex Inc., Pro Doc Ltée, Sanis Health
Inc. and Sivem Pharmaceuticals, are recalling ranitidine
drugs. It is commonly known by the brand name Zantac.
Please connect with your GP, Pharmacist and/or your Nurse
Practioner to discusses alternative medications that can be
     taken instead.
