This brochure is designed to help members discover a little bit more about
each of the competitions we offer, and to perhaps spark a flame of interest in               • JUNIOR

Scottish Curling administer over forty competitions every year. These range
from national championships, where teams can put in their bid to don the                     • ENTRY-LEVEL

those just starting off; from the Rink Championship that sees clubs across the
country do battle throughout the season, to the Waldie Griffith Inter-Province

The competitions are broken down into categories. Firstly, for those who would
like to claim a national title, followed by our Province and club competitions.              • CONTACT
There is then some information about our Junior competitions, and some
events for newer curlers of all ages. We have rounded off with details of some                 INFORMATION &
competitions run by other organisations in Scotland that we feel would be of
interest to our members.
                                                                                               ENTRY FORMS

All of our competitions are governed by the RCCC Rules of the Game, which
are updated each season and can be found on our website here. This covers
everything from sheet layout to substitution rules, as well as any competition
specific rules.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS                                                               NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

                                                                                       GOLDLINE SCOTTISH CURLING MIXED DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP
                                                                                       A recent Olympic addition, one male and one female join forces in this dynamic
                                                                                       format. With shorter games, aggressive ends and Power Plays thrown in, Mixed
                                                                                       Doubles provides an exciting game for players and spectators alike.

                                                                                       SCOTTISH CURLING MIXED CHAMPIONSHIP
                                                                                       This open, inclusive and fun event traditionally takes place at the end of the
                                                                                       season and combines the competitive and relaxed aspects of our game. The
                                                                                       format allows curlers to play with new people and potentially go all the way and
                                                                                       book their ticket to the next season’s World Mixed Championship.Teams must
                                                                                       consist of 2 male and 2 female players playing in alternate positions.
  SCOTTISH CURLING CHAMPIONSHIPS
  The most prestigious event of the season showcases both male and female
  teams competing over a week to be crowned Scottish Champions. Spectators
  gather from across the country to take their ice-side seats for some of the best
  action Scotland has to offer.

  SCOTTISH CURLING SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
  A fiercely competitive event with a strong social element, this is a chance for
  all curlers over the age of fifty to become a member of Team Scotland. Teams
  participate in Men’s and Women’s parts of the event to earn their place at the
  World Senior Championships.

  SCOTTISH CURLING JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
  This week-long event is the pinnacle of the junior curling calendar, in which
  curlers aged 21 and under compete for the Scottish Curling Junior Championship
  title in the hope to represent Scotland at the World Junior Championships.

                                                                                          CHAMPIONSHIP
                                                                                          This hugely popular event gives juniors the opportunity to play mixed doubles on
                                                                                          a national stage. Experience the format that is the newest addition to the Olympic
                                                                                          family and captured the imaginations of fans across the world in Pyeongchang.
                                                                                          Teams must contain 1 male and 1 female under the age of 21.

                                                                                          SCOTTISH CURLING SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIP
                                                                                          Have you thought about getting a school team together? With a national title to
                                                                                          play for, any four curlers from your school (or feeder primary schools) can enter.
                                                                                          Entry can be made by teachers, parents, volunteers or the curlers themselves. A

                                                                                            Consisting of 4 slams that are the perfect preparation for the Scottish Junior
                                                                                            Championships. Each event has a Male and Female competition and runs from
                                                                                            Friday to Sunday. A cash prize of £1,000 is on offer for the top male and female
                                                                                            teams as well as entries into other competitions provided by the Scottish Curling
                                                                                            Academy Programme.

EXTERNAL COMPETITIONS

   SCOTTISH WHEELCHAIR CURLING ASSOCIATION (SWCA)
  The SWCA are a vibrant organisation that we work in partnership with
  specifically around the provision of competitions in the Paralympic discipline of
  Wheelchair Curling. In addition to all of the opportunities for wheelchair curlers
  to play alongside non-disabled curlers in Scottish Curling Competitions there are
  a range of wheelchair-specific competitions that the SWCA administer.

  These include the Scottish Wheelchair Pairs Championship and the Scottish
  Wheelchair Championships as well as season-long leagues and The Friendship
  Trophy which pits North against South. You can find more information about

  SCOTTISH CURLING TOUR
  Whether you want to enter your local Open competition or travel the country
  with a team of friends, The Scottish Curling Tour can offer another competitive
  outlet for you. Formed in 2011 by a group of players, the tour aims to provide
  a competitive curling circuit in Scotland that will grow number and quality of
  competitive curling events around Scotland, establish a second tier competitive
  path for graduating juniors wishing to stay in the competitive game and improve
  participation by encouraging strong local teams to travel to different rinks. You

  THE CALEDONIAN TOUR
  Seniors curling for those aged over 50 is a truly thriving sector of the game
  and of our membership. To meet the growing demand for competitions The
  Caledonian Tour creates a competitive tour in Scotland for curlers aged over
  50. Compromised initially of 3 well established competitions the Tour offers an
  opportunity for teams to play competitive curling against their peers. It is the
  ideal way to prepare for the Seniors Championship or rekindle friendships and
