                                   INCOME TAX PREPARATION
                                      Thursdays and Fridays by appointment
                                             through April 14, 2022
                                IRS Certified AARP volunteer tax aides will prepare 2021
                                income tax returns for returning customers only, age 50+.
                                This is a free service and returns will be filed electronically.
If your income is above the low federal guidelines you will provide a list of tax preparers for
your convenience. Call to make an appointment. Call March 4, for an April appointment.

Senior Services has an Information & Referral (I&R) Program that provides information on a wide variety
of resources, from City, County, State, and Federal, to private companies that can assist you with
specific needs.
What is I&R: Community information and referral providers that connect people with resources that can
help them.
Who Uses I&R: Everyone can use and benefit from I&R throughout their lives.
How I&R Works: Recreation Coordinator, Kris Garcia, maintains and updates resources, programs and
services through various channels. If you or someone you know have questions or need referral
assistance please contact KrisGarcia at 626.574.5138 or email at kgarcia@arcadiaca.gov.

                                          LIONS SIGHT PROGRAM AVAILABLE
                      Senior Services in partnership with Arcadia Lions Club offers a certification for a
                    cost-free eye exam, frames, and bifocal lenses. You must be 62 years or older, and
                        have a yearly income below $29,000. Call Kris to schedule an appointment.

                          WHAT IS HICAP? Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program
                       provides free, confidential counseling, education, and assistance on Medicare,
                       Long-Term Care insurance, other health insurance related issues, and planning
                         ahead for Long-Term Care needs. Contact Kris Garcia for an appointment.

                        NOTARY PUBLIC SERVICES: Notary Services with Marilyn Merlo will be
                         available the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 10am to 12pm.
                       Limited to three signatures or thirty minutes. Call to schedule an appointment.

                          Brock Milhorn. Brock can assist any Veteran and/or family
                       members connect with services such as: mental health treatment,
                        substance misuse support, healthcare access, and education.

                        installing FREE smoke detectors to senior citizens
                        who reside in Arcadia. If you are in need of one in

THE PAGEANT OF OUR LORD: Saturday, April 2. LV 10am, RET 4:30pm, $106.
Lunch at Buca di Beppo. The Pageant of Our Lord has delighted audiences
with a unique presentation of the life of Christ through “LIVE”
reproductions and famous works of art accompanied by a magnificent
orchestration of a 60 voice choir that leads audiences on a unique journey
of Christ’s life. On sale now. Difficulty 1.
ALPACAS AND KNOTTS CHIX DINNER: Thursday, April 14. LV 8am, RET 6pm,
$110. Embark with Curt Tucker on fun filled day in Temecula with a visit
to Alpacas Hacienda. Learn about the history, quirky traits and other
interesting facts about the Alpaca. We continue on to Mrs. KNOTTS for an
included      late    chix.    Lunch      and some    shopping    included.

SAINTS AND SINNERS, Tuesday, April 26, LV 9am, RET 5:30pm, $134. Lunch at
Tam O’Shanter Scottish Restaurant. Our first stop will be a guided tour
with John Dougherty, of the world class Los Angles Police Museum.
Exhibits reflect the numerous contributions and investigations of the LAPD
beginning 1869. After a great lunch at TAM O’SHANTER John will take us on
a tour of two iconic LA churches. On sale now. Difficulty 2.

OLDIES   BUT   GOODIES: Saturday, May 21. LV 9:30, RE 5pm, $107.
NEW VENUES.      Curt Tucker will guide us through LA’s theater district
which is still blessed with the most remarkable theaters built during
Hollywood’s Golden Age, like The Million Dollar, The Wiltern, The Mayan,
and Graumans Chinese Theater. After a wonderful stop at The Apple Store
Tower Theatre, we will enjoy lunch (on your own) at iconic Phillippes. We
will end the day in Hollywood with a behind-the-scenes tours
of Graumans Chinese and Dolby Theatres. Locations subject to change.

RELICS AND RAREITIES: Thursday, May 26, LV 8:30am, RET 4:30pm, $119. First
stop will be a guided tour of the home and museum of Antonia Futterer, an
eclectic adventurer who is said to be inspiration for Indiana Jones. He
amassed an incredible collection of Holyland regalia and momentoes have
been on display since 1924. Next we will explore Valley Relics Museum with
artifacts from match books to neon signs and vintage cars. Lunch will be
at the oldest Bob’s Big Boy Restaurant in America.

GONDOLAS OF CORONADO: Tuesday, June 7, LV 8:30am, RE 7:30pm, $135.
Indulge with Curt Tucker in all the magic and traditions of Venice right in
San Diego as you cruise in a private gondola through the enchanting canals
and waterways of the Coronado Cays. Lunch is on your own under the
wonderful Coronado Bridge at the Coronado Ferry Center, a waterfront
shopping center with art galleries, apparel retailers, fine dining and casual

STEMS & GEMS: Tuesday, June 14, LV 9am, RET 5pm, $84. In 1913, a group of
growers and sellers started the LA FLOWER district. Over the years as
demand for fresh flowers increased LA’S flower district became the largest
in the US. This is a guided tour by John Dougherty. We will begins with a
stop at the flower district where you can purchase blooms at a discounted
price. Next, we will stop at he iconic Jewelry Mart with over 3,000 leading
importers, designers, and wholesale jewelers. Lunch is on your own at the
International Grand Central Market. On sale March 3. Difficulty 2.

COME FROM AWAY: Friday, June 24, LV 3:30pm, RET, 10:30pm, $130 orchestra
seats. Don’t miss out on this outstanding musical at Segerstrom Center.
