OSCAR is a serious business-type from the city. DAN is an uncouth farm-boy, who waits tables at CAN PITU, the country restaurant

belonging to OSCAR's father. They meet when DAN accidentally throws manure in OSCAR's face. Not long after, they discover that they

back—or OSCAR is a dead man.

When their father dies, the brothers inherit CAN PITU, and OSCAR has no other choice but to hide out there with his snobby wife BELÉN.

Of course, they have to share it with dopey DAN.

While at CAN PITU, OSCAR meets YOLI, a very special woman. OSCAR rediscovers the pleasures of country life, and even learns to love

How can you make a documentary about the biggest soccer star in the world when the star in question doesn’t want to be in it? Cult

director Alex de la Iglesia came up with a smart solution. In this kaleidoscopic portrait, he avoids the classic interview scenarios, choosing

instead to put his protagonists in a restaurant with the instruction to eat, drink and talk about Lionel Messi. The tables are packed with old

friends and soccer colleagues from his time on the Rosario team, his former teachers and youth trainers, teammates from FC Barcelona,

Argentine football stars of yesteryear, journalists, Messi experts and of course the unavoidable Johan Cruijff. While Barcelona midfielder
Mascherano wonders what it would be like to be Messi just for a moment, Cruijff puts a swift end to the eternal discussion about who is the

best player of all time: “Thank goodness for Messi, otherwise we’d still be talking about Maradonna.” The conversations are interspersed

with dramatizations of key moments from Messi’s youth: from the expensive hormone therapy that accelerated his difficult growth to his

controversial move to Barcelona. Messi slowly comes to life through the lively discussions in the restaurant, reenactments and archive

material. We get to know a shy boy who never lost his childlike love of play and who went on to become the hero of an unlikely adventure

story.

Inequality, injustice and the demands of the world we live in cause stress and depression for many people. Some of them, however, explode.

This is a movie about those people.

Vulnerable in the face of a reality that shifts and suddenly turns unpredictable, the characters of Wild Tales cross the thin line that divides

civilization and barbarism. A lover's betrayal, a return to a repressed past and the violence woven into everyday encounters drive the

characters to madness as they cede to the undeniable pleasure of losing control.

bosses. The land of Alfio Bonavita, who 30 years ago was forced give away his farm to the local Mafioso, is presently made available by the

State to an heterogeneous group of people, that has formed a cooperative. Although their agricultural notion is poor, and their know-how

in farming non-existent, they start working the land boycotted daily by unseen powers that try to hamper their activity in every way, They

apply for help to the Board Antimafia who sends over Filippo, very competent in antimafia laws and regulations but completely

inexperienced to face practical problems. He is petrified at first by the gigantic task he’s facing and has to resist the urge of just clearing the

field But the curious dynamics of this peculiar troop keeps him going, or maybe the one thing that retains him is his budding sentiment for

beautiful Rosanna soul and head of this incongruous antimafia gang.

Sepideh (Persian) Docu-film
Sepideh is a young Iranian woman who dares to dream - of a future as an astronaut. At night, she stares up at the universe, and she is taking

lessons from a space fanatic who teaches schoolchildren about astronomy. At home, full of hope and longing, she watches recordings of the

world's first female astronaut, Anousheh Ansari. So it is possible! When her father died suddenly six years ago, Sepideh discovered that she

could feel closer to him by watching the stars. And so her dream was born, but not everyone appreciates her boundless ambition. After all,

becoming an astronaut is not exactly a normal goal for a girl in Iran, particularly because there's no money to pay for university and beyond.

Her mother and uncle are worried about the emancipated young woman. She doesn't want to learn to cook, hardly ever visits her family

and doesn't seem to be thinking about marriage at all. We follow this brave young Iranian woman as she watches the stars, as well as at

school, in the mosque and at home, where tensions steadily rise. As we follow Sepideh, it becomes clear just how at odds her dreams are

with her current reality and the expectations of those around her. Fortunately, Sepideh is able to express all her thoughts, dreams and cares

in the letters she writes to her hero, Albert Einstein.

Cannibal (Spanish) Suspense
Carlos works as a tailor in Granada, one of Spain's sleepy southern cities where time seems to have stopped and where things that lurk in

the shadows can remain unnoticed. Carlos lives alone and rarely interacts with anyone beyond his clients. No one would imagine that this

shy and respectable tradesman is actually a murderer and a cannibal, remorselessly targeting Eastern European women who have no papers

and filling his freezer with their flesh. Then the truly unexpected occurs: Nina, the Romanian twin sister of one of his victims, appears at his

front door, and love slowly creeps in.

Expertly shot and fluidly conveyed by director Manuel Martín Cuenca, Caníbal is steeped in the traditional values and religious overtones

that define Spain's southern region, its story beginning just as Easter festivities approach. As in his previous feature, Half of Oscar, which

screened at the Festival in 2010, landscape and geography play an integral role in Martín Cuenca's vision, giving opportunity to ponder the

changing nature of Spanish society as interaction with the rest of Europe intensifies. As Carlos and Nina walk along the windy mountain

paths of Granada's Sierra Nevada, Caníbal keeps us on edge, unsure if Carlos will lash out at this beauty. Borrowing many elements from
film noir, this disturbingly intoxicating film, made richer by de la Torre's complex and magnetic central performance, will have audiences

enthralled. Caníbal interrogates one of society's greatest taboos through a romance that questions the nature of love and the outer limits of

forgiveness — contemplating all the while the old adage that love conquers all.
