Liebe Mitglieder,
Ich moechte allen danken, die im letzten Monat dazu beigetragen haben, unsere Freitag
Abenden und andere kulturelle Veranstaltungen zu einer positiven und sicheren Erfahrung
gemacht zu haben. Inzwischen haben auch einige Mitglieder schon eine Impfung erhalten
oder einen Termin dafuer gemacht. Wenn diese Entwicklung so anhaelt hoffen wir bald
wieder, mit voller Kapazitaet zu oeffnen. Wir hatten auch einen Grund zu feiern, als der FC
Bayern Muenchen in Qatar die FIFA Vereinsweltmeisterschaft gewinnen konnte. Unser offi-
zieller Bayern Muenchen Fan Club ist offen fuer alle, die mit uns bei den Bayern Spielen mit-
fiebern und mitfeiern wollen. Am 2. Wochenende im Maerz wollen wir im Biergarten, wo die
Moeglichkeiten fuer “social distancing” hervorragend gegeben sind und das schoene Florida
Wetter dazu einlaedt, eine Ausssenveranstaltung abhalten. Der Termin ist der 13. Und 14.
Maerz. Da St. Paetricks Day nur wenige Tage spaeter ist, wollen wir irisches Essen, Get-
raenke und entsprechende Musik anbieten, um allen die Moeglichkeit zu geben, wieder im
Biergarten zusammen zu feiern.

Message from the German Ministry Inc,
Cape Coral, FL
The German ministry met on February 5th for its annual meeting. There were no elections.
One topic was the treasurers report by Siegwart Volkmann. The second and more im-
portant topic was the future of the German church service. We had 3 options. 1. option
continue as it is 2. option cancel the German church service 3. option have the service
only on special occasions.
The reason to have a decision like that was that due to Covid the attendance at the ser-
vice is very low, just between 5 and 8 people are showing up. That means continuing as it
is would empty our account within this year. But everybody agreed not to cancel the Ger-
man church service totally. We decided to have German church service at the following
occasions.
Easter Sunday, April 4th at 3pm with Holy communion
Pentecost Sunday, May 23rd at 3 pm with Holy communion
Octoberfest Sunday October 24th at 11 am in the big tent (but only if there is an October-
fest)
Christmas, Friday December 24th at 2 pm with Holy communion
We will invite you to each service.
Der Kirchenvorstand der German Ministry hat sich am Freitag, den 5. Februar zur jaehrli-
chen Vorstandsitzung getroffen.
Der 1. Punkt der Tagesordnung war der Bericht des Schatzmeisters Siegwart Volkmann.
Der 2. und wichtigere Punkt der Tagesordnung war die Entscheidung zu treffen, wie es
mit dem Deutschen Gottesdienst weiter gehen kann.
1. Moeglichkeit: Gottesdienst wie bisher an jedem 4. Sonntag
2. Moeglichkeit: Gottedienst ganz einstellen
3. Moeglichkeit: Gottesdienst nur an bestimmten Festtagen
Der Grund fuer eine solche Entscheidung liegt in der Tatsache begruendet, dass wegen
Covid nur ganz wenige Besucher monatlich zum Gottesdienst kommen. In der Regel sind
es im Augenblick nicht mehr wie 5 bis 8 Besucher.
Die einstimmige Meinung war, das wir weiter deutschen Gottesdienst anbieten werden,
aber nur an folgenden Tagen.
1. Ostersonntag, den 4. April um 3 pm mit anschliessendem Heiligen Abendmahl
2. Pfingstsonntag, den 23. Mai um 3 pm mit Heiliogen Abendmahl
3. Octoberfest, am 24.10. um 11 am im Festzelt (wenn das Octoberfest stattfindet)
4. Heilig Abned am 24.12 um 2 pm mit Heiligen Abendmahl.
Sie werden zu den Gottesdiensten noch mal gesondert einladen

GAME WATCHING PARTIES
Come join us and watch available televised games in the Edelweiss Hall at the Ger-
man American Social Club in Cape Coral. The doors opens 30 minutes prior to kick-
off . Food and drinks available for purchase.
Any groups getting together should observe social distancing and wear masks when
venturing offsides. As always if you are not feeling well or have had a recent exposure
to anyone COVID positive just stay home and get tested ASAP. Failure to comply is a
red card offense.

Sissi, Schicksalsjahre einer Kaiserin– Teil 3
Sissi lässt uns wohl nicht so einfach los! Ganz klar, beim letzten Kul-
tur waren noch mehr anwesend, 18! Und wir können nicht anders,
als uns den dritten und letzten Teil der Trilologie anzuschauen. Der
dritte Teil wurde 1957 gedreht, und ist wohl etwas trauriger ges-
timmt. Die Szenerie um Tegernsee, Österreich und Norditalien ist
wunderschön anzuschauen. Die Schauspieler Romy Schneider, Kar-
heinz Böhm und Magda Schneider, gehören zu den Lieblingen der
Heimatsfilme aus der Zeit. Also, nicht verpassen am Die Nachfrage
war gross, und von daher schauen wir uns am 16.3 um 19 Uhr Teil 2
an. Seid dabei, bringt ruhig Familie und Freunde mit, die der
deutschen Sprache nicht ganz mächtig sind, denn

Sissi, Fateful Years of an Empress– Part 3
Sissi has enchanted us and we can’t let go. And no wonder – at our last Kulturgesellschaft,
more people attended than in January – 18! So, we just can’t stop ourselves – we simply
have to watch the third and final part of the trilogy. The last part was produced in 1957 and
is somewhat sad. The beautiful scenery includes Lake Tegernsee in Bavaria and scenes in
Austria and Norther Italy. The actors Romy Schneider, Karlheinz Böhm and
Magda Schneider are fan favorites of German Heimatfilme of the time. So,
don’t miss it! Come and join us on March 16th at 7 pm to watch it. Your
German’s needs improvement? No problem – the subtitles will get you
through it. We will try to watch it in better quality on the new large screen
TV.
Of course, the bar will be ready to serve and there will be the
usual coffee and cake throughout the evening. See you then.

and the trees and bushes have to be trimmed. The carpenters are working to give our main en-
trance to the club a new look. All that to keep our club up to date and help to save money. Thank
you all for the work. We need more helpers for all that work. If you are interested join us on every
Wednesday. We are working from 8am to noon, followed by a lunch.
Some of us visited Walter Antlitz, a longtime member of beautification and the carpenter shop, to
congratulate him to his 92nd birthday. It was a surprise for him and he enjoyed it.
In Vorbereitung auf kommende Clubveranstaltungen arbeitet das Beautification Team an
verschiedenen Projekten. Die letzten Kuechengeraete warden in den Aussenkuechen eingebaut,
der Ticketschalter am Haupteingang ist generalueberholt so dass das Arbeiten dort wieder Spass
macht. Die Elektriker arbeiten weiter daran, Kosten fuer den Club zu reduzieren, in dem sie neue
Leitungen verlegen, alte Lampen gegen kostenguenstige LED Lampen austauschen und die
Stromuebergabepunkte von LCEC an den Club, fuer die jeder einzeln monatlich bezahlt warden
muss, zu reduzieren. Im Garten warden Bueche und Baeume zurueckgeschnitten und auch das
Gras faengt wieder an zu wachsen und muss gemaeht werden. Die Tischler arbeiten daran, den
Eingangsbereich zum Hauptgebaeude neu zu gestalten. Alles dass, um den Clubeinladend und
attraktiv zu machen. Danke an alle, die fleissig mitarbeiten. Wir koennen aber gern noch weitere
Mitglieder im Team gebrauchen. Wenn sie Zeit und Lust haben kommen sie. Wir treffen uns
jeden Mittwoch von 8 Uhr bis 12 Uhr mit einem anschliessenden Mittagessen.
