Department of Chemistry has been propagating the interests of the students in the various chemical
developments and scientific researches. It aims at building scientific interest among students by
conducting regular seminars to enhance and help the students implore the interesting sides of Chemistry
and vast career options that they might have in Chemistry.

About the Seminar

At a point where climate change is the inevitable end to mankind, it is highly important to be aware about
what is happening and what is going to be the outcome of such a defining issue. The environment has
been bearing the consequences of our negligence and it is time to resolve our mistakes. Third world
countries are emerging major consumers of resources and should ensure the procedures are not causing
any harm to the environment. Being a third world country ourselves, it is highly significant that we carry out
our development keeping in mind the greenness and sustainability of the processes. Sustainability and
sustainable development are the only ways to go about it. Thus, adopting Green methods to conserve
environment and finding solutions to the Environmental problems is the need of the hour.

Aim of the Seminar
The objective is to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man -made climate change, and to
lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change. This requires the
researchers from multiple academic disciplines to assess the challenges that our world is facing and
finding the solutions on a common platform. Eminent speakers of the seminar would apprise the audience
with the recent advances in selected themes of Sustainable development possible under aegis of science
and environment related issues and promote information exchange on related topics. This seminar will
infuse research interest among young generations to work towards making chemistry and science as a
whole greener to work towards our ultimate goal of a sustainable environment. It will provide platform for
students, teachers, researchers to discuss and share knowledge and skills for the work required to be
