Travelling in the New Normal

    Introduction:

The uncertainty of Covid-19 makes it hard to navigate travel decisions. With many airlines
grounding planes compelled by unprecedented border restrictions, we want to address
concerns of travelers who want to be back home to be with families and business travelers
or students who have an essential need to travel to Germany.

Out of Singapore, Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa Group has up to 25 weekly flights to
our JV hubs in Frankfurt, Munich and Zürich, conveniently connecting you to the rest of
    Germany.

The flights are expected to be operational as per schedule below, subject to change without
prior notice. The most updated information will always be on our website. The table below
should aid your planning needs based on the day of the week we are operating.

Your safety is always our priority.
On your next flight with us, you may notice that there are a few changes to your travel
experience. These measures are taken to ensure the health and safety of our guests and
employees and more details can be found in the links below. Lufthansa also has flying

Feeling uncertain about the entry regulations at your travel destination?
Travel is subjected to frequently changing governmental restriction. You may visit our travel
advisory pages below for more information, but we would still advise for you to check with
state advisories before scheduling trips as entry regulations/quarantine requirements may
change at short notice.

Singapore Airlines | Lufthansa | SWISS

Transit rules: how has it changed with connecting time and is Covid-19
test mandatory even for transiting?

To allow for more time at security, we would recommend a 90-minute connecting time.

Transit passengers do not need to comply with mandatory negative Covid-19 test at our JV
hubs in Frankfurt, Munich and Zürich. If there is a need for voluntary Covid-19 testing, onsite
rapid testing is available. The most updated health and safety information for Germany and
Switzerland can also be found in at the respective country’s health authority website.

Transfers between airlines are normal at our Frankfurt, Munich and Zürich hubs. However,
transiting in Singapore is limited to regulatory approved itineraries, more information can
be found here. A list of Regulatory Approved itineraries transiting through Singapore can be
found here for SIA and here for LHG.

Baggage rules: are there any changes? How many bags can I bring for
hand-carry and check-in?

We recommend to only carry 1 piece of hand luggage of up to 7Kg in order to speed up the
process at the security checkpoints, boarding and deplaning. This is to avoid crowding as
much as possible.

Nothing has changed with the baggage handling process. Your bag will be tagged to your
final destination on your single ticket.

For Singapore Airlines code-share and operated flights: you can check-in 30Kg for Economy
Class, 35Kg for Premium Economy Class, 40Kg for Business Class and 50Kg for First Class.

For Lufthansa and SWISS code-share and operated flights: you can check-in 1PC x 23Kg in
Economy Class and 2PC x 23Kg in Premium Economy Class, 2PCx 32Kg in Business Class
and 3PC x 32Kg in First Class.

Travelling back to Singapore

Please ensure you fill out the electronic SG Arrival Card e-Services before you arrive in
Singapore.

Passengers arriving from Germany would be required to serve a Stay-Home Notice (SHN)
at dedicated facilities, and consequently undergo a Covid-19 test. More info on entry
requirements can be found on ICA and MOM respective websites.

As of 17th November 2020, non-Singapore citizen or permanent residents, will need a 72h
pre-departure test. This is on top of the SHN at designated facilities.

Countries are also setting up safe travel lanes for essential travel. You may check on your
country’s inclusion here.

Singapore – Germany Reciprocal Greenlane (RGL)
As of 20th of November 2020, Singapore and Germany have implemented a Reciprocal
Green Lane (RGL) to facilitate essential short-term business and official travel between both
countries. The Singapore – Germany RGL is only applicable for travel between airports in
Singapore and Germany with available non-stop flight routes.

For travellers departing Singapore:

Travellers must be sponsored by a company or government agency.

Travellers must obtain an SGS Travel Pass from receiving enterprise or invitation
letter from receiving German authority, the SGS Travel Pass from the Singapore –
German Chamber of Industry and Commerce which confirms the travellers’ status
as an RGL traveller, and a valid visa, if required.

Travellers must adhere to a controlled itinerary, supervised by the host country or
        government agency.

Travellers would not need to get tested for Covid-19 before departure and upon
arrival, but are subjected to a 14-day SHN after RGL travel, at dedicated Singapore
facilities and a PCR swab test before the end of the SHN.

Further details can be found here.
For travellers departing Germany:

The applicant from the host company or government agency is required to
submit pre-trip health and travel history declarations and accommodation details
electronically via the SG Arrival Card here within three days prior to the date of entry
into Singapore. The applicant from the host company or government agency is also
required to submit the traveller’s certificate of negative test result for COVID-19
taken within 72 hours before departure and latest 14-day controlled itinerary in
        Singapore.

Travellers must take a COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival in Singapore and remain
isolated in a declared self-sourced accommodation until their test results are
        released (typically within 48 hours).

Please note that if you travel using the SGS Travel Pass (from Singapore to Germany
and returning to Singapore), you will not be released from serving a 14-day SHN at
dedicated facilities upon return to Singapore at your own costs. However, if you are
a German resident on approved RGL to Singapore, you would not have to serve a
14-day quarantine but require a safe travel pass and follow a controlled itinerary,
        subject to prevailing health measures.

A good overview of safe travel pass can be found here.
