We are proud to announce that Jernkontoret will host the 5th ESTAD Conference in Stockholm
on June 14-18, 2021.

This is an outstanding opportunity to meet leading experts and suppliers and listen to the latest
developments in steel technology and applications.

The European Steel Technology and Application Days (ESTAD) conference is hosted in
cooperation between the German Steel Institute VDEh, Austrian Society for Metallurgy and
Materials (ASMET), Associazione Italiana di Metallurgia (AIM), and the Swedish Steel
Producers Association (Jernkontoret) since 2013.

Today ESTAD is established as an important meeting place for steel producers, steel users,
plant suppliers, research institutes, as well as universities from all around the world.

Nowadays we are well aware of the potential hazards of greenhouse gas emissions. The steel
industry is responsible for a significant part of such emissions. At the same time, steel is vital
for building a sustainable society.

Although several important steps have been taken, a lot more has to be done to decrease the
emissions to the levels set by EU policies for 2050. New technologies are required for virtually
all processes related to steel production. Open exchange of ideas and knowledge is a very
good starting point for developing the new, smart and sustainable processes the steel industry
needs. ESTAD 2021 will be a part of this journey into the future.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
In 2021, ASMET, AIM, Steel Institute VDEh and Jernkontoret organize the 5th European Steel
Technology & Application Days (ESTAD), the leading European technical conference for the
Steel industry.

This event will continue to offer the opportunity to be informed about the most recent
developments of steelmaking processes and steel products.

FOCUS
This international conference focuses on the latest trends and issues and provides a wide
networking and information platform for equipment and service suppliers,
plant manufacturers, steelmakers and scientists.

At this event you will acquire the latest information on new ideas and developments as well
as on the state-of-the-art in metallurgical process technologies for iron and steel
production, steel materials and steel application.

The Conference will focus on all technical aspects within the following six main fields:

   -   Ironmaking
   -   Steelmaking
   -   Rolling and forging
   -   Steel materials and their application, powder metallurgy and surface technologies
   -   Industry 4.0
   -   Environment and energy

CONFERENCE DATES
The conference will take place on June 14-18, 2021 in Stockholm, Sweden. Friday 18th is
reserved for company visits.

VENUE
The conference will be held at the Brewery Conference Centre (www.munchenbryggeriet.se)
in the centre of Stockholm with a spectacular view over the water and Stockholm City Hall.
Until 1971 the venue served as a brewery but today it is a meeting place with modern facilities.

 June 15-16, Tuesday to        Parallel sessions, exhibition, conference dinner (Wednesday

POSTER SESSION
The conference will feature a Poster Session, providing opportunities to present cutting edge
research in detail.
