EVENT GUIDE 21ST - 27TH - JUNE - The Northern Aldborough Festival
2021

              WELCOME
“We have been resting so that we are fresh for
tomorrow.”
No, not Shakespeare, but Australian former cricket
captain Ricky Ponting.
The sentiment of a fresh re-awakening following
a ‘rest’ seems apt. The prospect of a return to live
music has been eagerly embraced by the Northern
Aldborough Festival, and we have pulled out all the
stops with a stellar line-up.
Gracing the programme are ‘Britain’s most loved
soprano’ Lesley Garrett, the former Communard
turned cleric Reverend Richard Coles and the
Russian virtuoso violinist Viktoria Mullova, who
appears with her son, rising jazz star Misha
Mullov-Abbado. Alongside these household names
are younger musicians receiving a platform early in
their careers, something the Festival has endeavoured
to provide since its inception in 1994.
From the opening night performance by oboist
Nicholas Daniel’s Haffner Ensemble to the Last
Night’s 80s themed revelry the 2021 Northern
Aldborough Festival promises an exhilarating
ambience, all the sweeter for the novelty of the live,
shared musical experience.
While the quality of the musical offering will be
ensured, so will the welfare and comfort of our
audience, and therefore numbers will be limited
and other measures taken to allow for safe, social
distancing. We urge you to book early to guarantee
your place!

     LAST NIGHT OUTDOOR CONCERT

           SATURDAY 26TH JUNE 6.00PM
The Grounds of Aldborough Manor YO51 9EP

          The Northern Aldborough Festival
closes in style with the UK’s no. 1
tribute to Sting and The Police, in
         the stunning grounds of Aldborough

on the main stage. The evening is
        capped with a spectacular orchestrated
                    firework display.
The Police were arguably the hottest group on the
planet during their short career (1977 - 1983).
Who can forget the classics Every Breath You Take,
Message In A Bottle, Walking On The Moon, Can’t
Stand Losing You and So Lonely? The Rozzers
recreate every nuance of the Police’s live show,
delivering all these hits, along with much of Sting’s
enviable solo catalogue (Fields of Gold) with
                     incredible authenticity.
Opening for this world beating tribute is one of
the most entertaining acts you will see all year -
Cambridge’s So 80s. Armed with a keyboard, two
microphones, a light show and a killer backing track

of it extremely unexpected, complete with high
