Acton
Town of Halton Hills, Various locations
The Recreation and Parks Department wants you to make the most of the day by offering a full schedule
of free events at Town facilities that are fun for the whole family.

Ancaster
Family Day Open House, Ancaster Sports Centre, 1030 Lower Lions Club Road, Ancaster, ON
Drop by the Ancaster Sports Centre on Family Day, Monday, February 17, 2020 from 11:00 am to 2:00
pm). Have fun playing soccer, jumping on the bouncy castles and much more! All ages are welcome. The
event is free of charge! The restaurant will be open to purchase food and drinks.

Burlington
Winter Exhibit: Wildlife Rescue, Royal Botanical Gardens, 690 Plains Road West, Burlington
Enter the fascinating world of Wildlife Rescue, an eye-opening, inspiring and wildly interactive exhibit
for all ages! Step into recovery efforts and “meet” the people who dedicate their lives to saving and
releasing endangered animals. Take a simulated flight to guide young whooping cranes along their first
migratory route, learn the methods used to milk Lake Sturgeon and reintroduce them to the Great
Lakes, then journey to Africa and Indonesia to witness efforts to successfully raise and release young
elephants and orangutans to the wild. Every day is filled with family activities and weekends feature live
animal guests from local wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centres.

Family Day Weekend in downtown Burlington, ON, various locations
Take in a show at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre! Two great shows are taking place on Family
Day weekend including The Sleeping Beauty Ballet on Friday, February 15th at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm as
well as Pete the Cat the Musical on Saturday, February 16th at 2:-00 pm. Head to the movies and grab a
bag of popcorn! Ciné Starz inside 460 Brant Street offers movies starting at $5 – check out show times
here. Bring the family out to the Art Gallery of Burlington’s FREE drop-in art studio in their GWD
Foundation for Kids’ Creative Hub. Their facilitators offer ideas as sources of inspiration to encourage
visitors to engage with art and craft making. (Children must be accompanied by parents or adult
caregivers.) Bundle up and go skating with the family at Rotary Centennial Pond in Spencer Smith Park!
No skates? No problem! Their Skate Lending program is open daily from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm on
weekends and holidays. Don’t forget, parking is FREE all weekend long including Family Day Monday!

Family Day at Joseph Brant Museum, 1240 North Shore Boulevard East, Burlington, ON
We will be highlighting our new exhibition: Giants, Dragons and Unicorns: The World of Mythic
Creatures (organized by the American Museum of Natural History). Enjoy making a family keepsake craft
and snack on some unicorn popcorn. Admission is $30/family, which includes two adults and up to four
children.

Brantford

Includes a midway, ice carving, snow slide, Kids Zone, artisan bazaar and much more.

Cambridge

Collingwood
Family Day at Blue Mountain, 108 Jozo Weider Boulevard, Blue Mountain, Collingwood
Gather the family for a weekend of active adventure and entertainment! Head off on a scavenger hunt,
get moving with our interactive groove dancing, take in a fireworks show and so much more!

Dundas
Inside Outside Family Day Festival, 139 Park Street West, Dundas, ON
Join the Dundas Museum and Rotary Club of Dundas Valley Sunrise for an Inside Outside Family Day
Festival. Inside at the Museum there will be a hobby fair, a musical performance by Andy G and Friends
at 3:00 pm and activities for the whole family to enjoy! Outside, the Rotary Club of Dundas Valley
Sunrise will be at the Dundas Driving Park for ice skating, skating demonstrations, special guests, live
music and horse-drawn carriage rides.

Dorset
Dorset Snowball Winter Carnival, various locations in Dorset, ON
February 14-15, 2020. Affectionately known as ‘Snowball,’ the Dorset Snowball Winter Carnival is one of
the longest-running and best indoor/outdoor winter carnivals in Ontario. Started in 1991 as a
community event and fundraiser for the Recreation Centre, it has grown to a much-loved and fiercely
boasted annual event full of games, music, interactive activities and, of course, food!
Gravenhurst
Gravenhurst Winter Carnival, Gravenhurst, ON
This longstanding Gravenhurst tradition celebrates all that our community has to offer, and features
super-fun events including Puddle Jumps, Kids Events, Skokie's Pizza and Birthday Parties, Polar Bear
Dip, Donut Eating on a String, Demolition Derby, Live Entertainment and so much more! February 14-17,
2020.

Haliburton
Haliburton Frost Festival, Head Lake Park, Haliburton
Saturday, February 15, 2020. Come out for a fun filled day of outdoor activity and recreation for the
entire family. There is everything from horse drawn wagon rides, pony rides, snowshoeing, puppet
shows, craft activities and sled dog rides around the park.

Hamilton
Hamilton Kids-Fest, Ancaster Fairgrounds, 630 Trinity Road, Jerseyville, ON
February 15-17, 2020. Interactive activities, games, crafts, cute and bizarre animals with hands on
exotics, jokes, juggling, and magic. Other activities include face painting, ceramic painting, sand art,
etc.

Kitchener-Waterloo
Family Day Carnival, Bingeman’s, 425 Bingeman’s Centre Drive, Kitchener
Bring the family to Bingeman’s for the Family Day Carnival! Enjoy inflatables, rides, food and activities!
The fun takes place in the Ballroom on Sunday, February 16th and Monday, February 17th. Children ages
2 - 11 are $10 each, adults and children under two (with accompanying children ages 2-11) are free. The
fun goes from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (all prices subject to applicable taxes and fees).

Milton
Family Day in Milton. Enjoy some free, fun-filled family activities this Family Day, February 17,
2020. Join us for a variety of Family Day activities offered at the Milton Sports Centre and Sherwood
Community Centre. Choose from family activities such as skating, swimming, family games, crafts and
more. See the full family day schedule starting February 1, 2020. Regular fees are applicable to some
activities.

Mississauga
KidsFestTO, International Centre, 6900 Airport Road, Mississauga
Kids Fest Toronto, which takes place February 15-17, 2020, features the largest indoor inflatable
roadshow for kids with over 30 inflatable rides and attractions. The inflatables range from large slides
for the big kids to toddler-approved gentle rides. Kids Fest Toronto is so much more than just bouncy
fun; enjoy entertaining shows, interactive activities, games, crafts and more.

2019 LunarFest presented by Vendôme, Living Arts Centre, 4141 Living Arts Drive, Mississauga,
The Living Arts Centre will once again be buzzing with FREE family-friendly programming including make-

February 14-17, 2020. With rock walls, fishing ponds and more, children of all ages will be excited for

Join us for a free skate around the Mattamy Homes Home Ice at the historic Maple Leaf Gardens
Monday, February 17, 2020, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Note: Ice skate rentals are not available.

Family Winter Fun Day at Fort York, 250 Fort York Boulevard, Toronto
Fort York will be packed with hands-on activities, performances and exhibitions. Check out the 1826
kitchen and try some baked goods and hot chocolate prepared over the hearth. Meet staff from the
Toronto History Museums including Colborne Lodge, Gibson House Museum, Mackenzie House,
Montgomery’s Inn, Spadina Museum and Todmorden Mills. They’ll be stationed at the Fort York Visitor
Centre and will offer creative crafts and other fun activities. Don’t forget to bring your skates so you can
glide around The Bentway Skate Trail from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

The Energy Show, Ontario Science Centre, 770 Don Mills Road, Toronto

Family Day at the Legislative Assembly, 111 Wellesley Street West, Toronto
Join us for a family friendly tour at Ontario’s Legislative Building on the Saturday, February 15,
2020. During this two-hour program, families will explore the historic Legislative Building, participate in
a scavenger hunt, learn how Parliament works, create a craft and have fun—all for free! Times: 10:00
am to 12:00 pm and 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. NOTE: Pre-registration is required. For more information, call

adult.

Winter at Ontario Place, 955 Lakeshore Boulevard West, Toronto
Winter Light Exhibition: February 17th 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Come explore the 3rd annual Winter Light
Exhibition on the West Island. Utilizing creativity, innovation, light and discovery, Ontario creators from
all artistic streams will showcase their exhibits following the curatorial theme of Cocoon. Take a look
and explore the exhibits!

Wasaga Beach
Snowman Mania, RecPlex Hall 1 and outdoors, 1724 Mosley Street, Wasaga Beach, ON
February 14-17, 2020 will officially kick off the 15th annual Snowman Mania with a party for all ages at,
which will include some fantastic Comedy Acts, the Always ABBA tribute band, indoor and outdoor
children's activities, which will include inflatables, balloon twisters, face painting and more. Also, savor
the memories of the night with our photo booth! Cozy up beside one of the outdoor fire pits and watch
the fireworks show that promises to be a spectacle experience! Swing by for the evening or come-and-
go as you please. This event will surely create some everlasting memories!

Family Fishing Day, across Ontario
Ontario Family Fishing Events is a province-wide opportunity for Canadian residents to fish Ontario
waters without the otherwise mandatory fishing version outdoors card. The Ontario Government
designates four periods throughout the year as license-free—February 15-17, 2020 (12:01 am Saturday
to 11:59 pm Monday), and May 9-10, 2020 (12:01 am Saturday to 11:59 pm Sunday), June 20-21, 2020
(12:01 am Saturday to 11:59 pm Sunday) ad July 4-12, 2020 (12:01 am Saturday to 11:59 pm Sunday).
During all other time periods, Canadian residents between the ages of 18 and 64 years must purchase a
valid fishing license to legally fish in Ontario.

Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC)
The 23rd Annual GBBC takes place February 14-17, 2020. The GBBC is an annual, four-day event that
engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are.
