The conference will cover the recent developments of the activation analysis technique using
neutrons (conventional and k0-based NAA and PGNAA and FNAA), charged particles (CPAA)
and photons (PAA), and Thin Layer Activation Analysis (TLA).Scope includes applications of
activation analysis to various fields like biology, geology, material science, (bio)medical sciences,
nanosciences, energy sciences, food and nutrition, forensic sciences, environmental sciences and
reference materials. Focus will be given on topics like modernization and improvement of
activation analysis techniques, gamma-ray spectrometry, detectors and instrumentation, facilities
like research reactors and accelerators, and QA/QC in measurements. Special attention will be
given to chemistry and applications of radioisotopes (activation products) obtained from reactors
and accelerators for health care, industry, agriculture and research. Scope also includes other
radioanalytical techniques like XRF, ion beam analysis (PIXE/PIGE/NRA) and solid state nuclear
track detector (SSNTD).

Technical programs in the conference will also provide a platform for the young researchers as
well as PhD students to interact with scientists from abroad and India engaged in research in the
areas of activation analysis. This conference will bring together a panel of highly-accomplished
experts and the presentations will encompass basic studies and applications as well as address
topics of novel methods. During the conference period, discussions will focus on the recent
advances, difficulties, and breakthroughs in the field of Activation Analysis. The conference will
feature a plenary/keynote talks, invited talks/oral presentations and poster presenttaions in various
technical sessions. Best oral & poster presentations will be selected for awards.

ABOUT MUMBAI AND THE CONFERENCE VENUE
Mumbai is located on the west coast of India. It is thefinancial capital of India and houses Indian
film industry. Mumbai city is well connected to the rest of the worldby many international airlines
and other parts of India by international as well as domestic airlines. Foreign Participants travelling
by air will arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja International Airport (BOM, Terminal 2/T2);
some may also arrive at the domestic airport Santacruz. People coming to Mumbai by train can
alight at Mumbai CST, Dadar, Kurla, Mumbai Central, Bandra or Panvel Terminus.
The venue of the Symposium is the DAE Convention Centre, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai-400094.
Anushaktinagar is located in the north-east part of Mumbai. This is a residential colony for the
staff members of DAE organizations including BARC and is surrounded by beautiful hills and
gardens. Railway stations are within 10-20 km from the Venue. Anushaktinagar is less than 25
kms from the Domestic and international (Terminal 2) airports. Prepaid and App based taxies (Ola,
Uber, Meru, Cool Cab, pre-paid taxi) are available at the airports and atmost railway stations.
Those travelling by local trains should alight at Mankhurd Station (East) on the harbor line, which
is ~2 kms from the venue(Anushaktinagar). Many buses run by Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and
Transport (BEST) come to the Anushaktinagar Bus Depot, near to & next to Chembur/Deonar.
The climate of Mumbai hot during summer and pleasant during winter. November to February is
pleasant with temperature generally ranging between18° and 25°C. Mumbai is usually sunny
throughout the year except the rainy season during July-October.
