Player comes out on top
for Written Tycoon colt
Mark Player is hoping “lightning can strike twice” after buying a son of
Written Tycoon (Iglesia) with agent Rob Roulston for $400,000 yesterday,
the second time in as many years he has purchased a colt by the stallion
at the Premier sale.
The International Thoroughbred Solutions principal secured the Blue
Gum Farm-consigned colt, who is the first foal out of the seven-time-
winning Group 2 scorer Miss Promiscuity (Magnus), who won three of her
first five starts for trainer Peter Moody. He was catalogued as Lot 313.
“He was a first foal so he was a very neat colt and reminded me of a
Capitalist-type of colt, short-coupled, very athletic terrific walk and very
strong chestnut colour,” said Player of his latest acquisition.
