WELCOME & CALL TO WORSHIP

HYMN: CH3 271
1. This joyful Eastertide, 2. My flesh in hope shall rest,
   Away with sin and sorrow. And for a season slumber:
   My Love, the Crucified, Till trump from east to west
   Hath sprung to life this morrow: Shall wake the dead in number:
  Had Christ, that once was slain, 3. Death's flood hath lost his chill,
  Ne’er burst his three-day prison, Since Jesus crossed the river:
  Our faith had been in vain: Lover of souls, from ill
  But now hath Christ arisen, My passing soul deliver:
  Arisen, arisen, arisen!

CALL TO PRAYER & LORD’S PRAYER
  Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come;
  thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
  And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
  And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the
  kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

THE APOSTLES’ CREED
  I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth: and in Jesus
  Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the
  Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he
  descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into
  heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence
  he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the
  holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the
  resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

HYMN: CH3 256
1. Sing, my tongue, how glorious battle 4. Faithful cross, above all other,
   Glorious victory became; One and only noble tree,
   And above the cross, his trophy, None in foliage, none in blossom,
   Tell the triumph and the fame: None in fruit compares with thee:
   Tell how he, the earth’s Redeemer, Sweet the wood and sweet the iron,
   By his death for man o’er came. And thy load how sweet is he.

2. Thirty years fulfilled among us - 5. Unto God be praise and honour:
   Perfect life in low estate - To the Father, to the Son,
   Born for this, and self-surrendered, To the mighty Spirit, glory -
   To his Passion dedicate, Ever Three and ever One:
   On the cross the Lamb is lifted Power and glory in the highest
   For his people immolate. While eternal ages run. Amen.

3. His the nails, the spear, the spitting,
   Reed and vinegar and gall;
   From his patient body piercèd
   Blood and water streaming fall;
   Earth and sea and stars and mankind
   By that stream are cleansèd all

PRAYER OF GRATITUDE AND CONCERN

ANTHEM: Their sound is gone out (Messiah) – G F Handel

HYMN: CH3 389

1. The Lord is my shepherd; 3. You have prepared a banquet for me
   There is nothing I shall want. In the sight of my foes.
   Fresh and green are the pastures             My head you have anointed with oil;
   Where you give me repose. My cup is overflowing.
   Near restful waters you lead me,
   To revive my drooping spirit. 4. Surely goodness and kindness shall
                                                follow me
2. You guide me along the right path; All the days of my life.
   You are true to his name. In the Lord's own house shall I dwell
   If I should walk in the valley of For ever and ever.
   darkness
   No evil would I fear. 5. To the Father and Son give glory.
   You are there with your crook and Give glory to the Spirit
   your staff; To God who is, who was, and will be
   With these you give me comfort. For ever and ever.

SERMON

OFFERTORY: Air (Rinaldo) – G F Handel

DOXOLOGY, DEDICATION OF THE OFFERING & CHORAL AMEN
  Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
  Praise him, all creatures here below;
  Praise him above, ye heavenly host;
  Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

  HYMN: CH3 527
1. Eternal Father, strong to save,
   Whose arm does bind the restless wave,
   Who bidd’st the mighty ocean deep
   Its own appointed limits keep;
   O hear us when we cry to thee
   For those in peril on the sea.

2. O Christ, whose voice the waters heard.
   Ans hushed their raging at thy word,
   Who walkedest on the foaming deep,
   And calm amid the rage didst sleep;
   O hear us when we cry to thee
   For those in peril on the sea.

3. O Holy Spirit, who didst brood
   Upon the waters dark and rude,
   And bid their angry tumult cease,
   And give for wild confusion peace;
   O hear us when we cry to thee
   For those in peril on the sea.

4. O Trinity of love and power,
   Your children shield in danger's hour;
   From rock and tempest, fire, and foe,
   Protect them wheresoe'er they go;
   Thus, evermore shall rise to thee
   Glad hymns of praise from land and sea
