40 Years of Nevada Senior Games
What were you doing in 1980? Nevada
Senior Games was established that year.
That question was asked of many NSG
participants. Answers arrived from coast
to coast and from those with birthdates
from 1928 to 1968 (a 40-year difference to
go along with the 40-year anniversary.)
Malcom Telloian, now calling Las Vegas
home and still dancing at age 92, was
living in Newport Beach CA at the time.
The United States was in the middle of a
huge recession. Mal was working in bank-
ing and real estate lending. Interest rates
had gone sky high with 16-18% mortgages
and 21% second trust deeds. It caused
the economy to slow to a screeching halt.
All was not bad for Mal, however. His two
daughters married around that time and
both his sons were attending universi-
ties. He now has two NSG gold medals for
dancing with the Alliante Steppers, 2014
and 2018, hanging on his picture wall.
On the other end of the spectrum,
Melissa (Mel) Hadley turned 12 in 1980, “The United States was in the middle of a huge

Social Security Services During COVID–19
From Andrew Saul,
Commissioner of Social Security
I want you to hear directly from me how
the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting
our services. The first thing you should
know is that we continue to pay ben-
efits. Be aware that scammers may try to
trick you into thinking the pandemic is
stopping your Social Security payments
but that is not true. Don’t be fooled.
To protect you and help stop the
spread of this coronavirus, we cannot
accept visitors in our offices at this time.
There are several other ways you can get
help. Many services are available online
at www.socialsecurity.gov. If you have
a critical need that you cannot address
online, we can help you over the phone.

and which ones we are suspending, how

Evel Pie Temporary Pop-Up In Tivoli Village
In response to demand in the community, Evel Pie has
opened a special limited pop-up for pick up and deliv-
ery service. Utilizing the Ada’s Tivoli Village space while
that restaurant is on hiatus, the pop-up will offer a select
menu of Evel Pie whole pies, as well as vegan pizza,
salads, and garlic knots, from 4-8 pm Tues-Sat, for the
duration of the COVID-19 quarantine or until further
notice. Packaged beer and wine will also be available.
“We had a lot of fans and friends asking us to keep doing
pick up and delivery during the quarantine,” says Creator/
Co-Owner Branden Powers. “That didn’t really work at our
Fremont location. But our friend, Chef James Trees, was nice
enough to let us borrow the Ada’s space for a little bit.”
Initial quantities will be limited to 60 pies per night.
Orders will be taken via phone at (702) 840-6460. Lim-
ited delivery is also available via Postmates.
Powers has also collaborated with pop artist Johnny
Ace to create a limited edition “Kill The Virus” T Shirt,
also available for sale at $25. All proceeds from the shirts
will support Evel Pie’s staff until the crisis has averted.
Shirts are available exclusively through this link.
Evel Pie may be the “daredevils of pizza” but they are taking
no chances with the safety of guests: The team will follow and
exceed all sanitation and hygiene protocols for the maximum
safety of the public, including contactless pick up. Details of all
practices will be made available onsite and via social media.
