HOLIDAYS COACH TOURS 2019 2019 - South West Coaches
Welcome to our 2019 Holiday Tour brochure, and we must initially begin by thanking you for making our
tour programme in 2018 such a success.

We have once again featured a wide range of quality, value for money holidays and short breaks both
within the UK and Europe. We will again bring you some of our best established destinations with
amended and updated itineraries, alongside a brand new selection of venues for those of you looking
for something different.

Using our fleet of mini-buses we offer you a virtually door to door pick up service as we will pick you up
from near as practically possible from your front door and take you to meet the tour coach. Our aim is
to get you on the tour coach and away on your tour as soon as possible.

All of the excursions described in the holiday that you choose are planned to enhance the tour and add
enjoyment. These are all included within the tour price that you pay – we don’t add any extras on and
expect you to pay more. However, if you prefer to spend some time in the host resort or doing your own
thing, then that is fine by us. All we would ask is that you inform your driver.

We would like to remind you that single rooms are limited so early booking is advised if you require this
type of room. South West Coaches are allocated a limited number of single rooms at the supplement
shown on the relevant tour page. Once these have all been sold we can request additional single
rooms but these are often at a increased supplement. In addition to this the seats on the coach are
allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis so if you have a preference for a particular seat, then again,
you need to book as early as possible.

More and more passengers are bringing a motorised scooter with them for the tours – this is no
problem however we do please ask that you inform us at the time of booking, especially so it is
not a surprise for a feeder coach driver who may not have space in their feeder vehicle to take the
scooter and may have to leave it or you behind.

If you want to hire a scooter for a tour, then we would suggest you contact Shopmobility in Yeovil,
who can also arrange delivery of the scooter to and from our depot, so we can safely load the
scooter onto the coach prior to departure, giving you one less thing to worry about. They will also
collect the scooter from us after the tour.

We are here to help you choose your perfect holiday and look forward to welcoming you on board soon.

Have a great holiday.

  FRIDAY - DAY
         - DAY 1 3AT SNOWDROP TIME
 RIDAY 15TH FEBRUARY
 4 DAY TOUR £
We visit Cragside House and Gardens, former home of the famous inventor, Lord
Armstrong. In 1878, Cragside was the first house in the world to be lit by hydro-
electricity and it is crammed full of ingenious gadgets - most of them still working
      - as well as an eclectic collection of British art, furniture, ceramics and natural history.
Outside the house, one of the largest rock gardens in Europe leads down to the Iron
Bridge, which in turn leads to the lovely formal gardens. Please note, the terrain at
Cragside House is uneven with steep footpaths, many of which are unsuitable for
wheelchair users. Then we move on to discover Wallington one of the National
Trust’s more unusual properties set in a 13,000 acre estate and famous for the huge
pre-Raphaelite paintings that tell the history of Northumberland, and a collection of
      beautiful furniture and quirky curiosities.

   WEDNESDAY - DAY 4

After breakfast we meet our blue badge guide for a full day guided tour exploring
Hadrian’s Wall Country and Hexham. We travel through the fabulously scenic
Northumbrian countryside along the Hadrian’s Wall route, visiting Chester's

unusually preserved baths and steam room, and the officers quarters. We
then visit the charming market town of Hexham, characterised by its stone
architecture, cobbled streets and historic buildings before continuing on our tour
along Military Road where we see the magnificent wall at close quarters.

   THURSDAY - DAY 5

We have free time in Newcastle to explore the city’s many attractions. At midday
we meet at the Quayside to embark on a 2 hour cruise, sailing to Ryton Willows
Nature Reserve and Newburn Countryside Park, passing under eleven of the
Tyne’s bridges, following the route of the world famous Blaydon Races. The cruise,
which turns at Ryton Willows for the return journey to Newcastle Quayside offers
a unique opportunity to enjoy the upriver wildlife where seals, grey herons and
many species of wading birds and ducks are regularly spotted. This cruise is
complimented by a recorded commentary. Please note, day of cruise is subject

in a quiet countryside setting, actually on an old fashioned all grass aerodrome
with 8 real hangars! These handsome hangars comprise an aero plane
engineering workshop, a garage and coach room, and the remainder house the
