It gives me great pleasure to invite you all to the 11th Annual Conference of the Indian Association of Paediatric
Anaesthesiologists (IAPA) being organised by the Department of Anaesthesiology, Pain Medicine and Critical
Care, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.
A.I.I.M.S. is well recognized for its high standards of patient care, research and undergraduate as well as
postgraduate teaching and training, at a National as well as global level. Postgraduates from our Department hold
prestigious clinical and teaching posts in many specialties worldwide including Paediatric Anaesthesia.
We are attempting to put together the best in contemporary practice of Paediatric Anaesthesia to benefit not only
regular paediatric anaesthesiologists, but also postgraduates and the ‘occasional’ paediatric anaesthesiologist.
Advances in regional anaesthesia, simulation and problem-based discussions by experts will hold court. We will
explore the possibilities of creating National level registries and improving awareness regarding this subject that is so
special to all of us.
