Happy New Year friends and families of The Shack! We hope that you had a
wonderful holiday season and are starting 2019 off right by sticking to your
resolutions!
This month our programs resume. Please check below for the dates. Family Fun
Night will be on the 18th and the theme is Game Night. We will be playing board
games, making crafts, and dinner will be provided. Please let us know that you
are planning to attend by calling the FRC phone at (304) 680-0568 or emailing
shackvista@the-shack.org . The Shack will be closed on the 21st in observance
of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Successes of the Month
Holiday Gift Giveaway
Community members spread cheer to the children enrolled in
the Shack's Before and After School programs by annually
donating items for the holiday season. These children have the
opportunity to choose a toy for themselves as well as an item
for a family member.

Skating With Santa
The Shack hosted its annual “Skating With Santa” event on December 17th. The
event was free and provided families the opportunity to come to the Shack and
skate with the assistance of the roller derby team, the Morgantown Roller
Vixens. In addition, participating families also received dinner, the opportunity
to decorate a cookie, and a book from Santa. Over sixty people attended and it
was a wonderful night of fun and celebration!

Reminders
Your child must be registered to participate in Outside School Environment
programs.
Recurring Program Descriptions
❏ Play Group - A free program for parents/caregivers and their children ages
0-3. Meets every Monday and Wednesday from 10:00-11:30.
Transportation services are available by calling 304-680-0568. Parents
must stay with child. Free play, storytime, crafts, and snack provided.
Pre-registration is not required.
❏ Respite - Drop-off program for parents to take a break. For children ages 3
months-4. The program is offered on Fridays from 9:30am-1:00pm.
Registration and a bagged lunch is required. Please call 304-680-0568
by 5:00pm on Wednesdays to register.
❏ Out of School Environment Days - Holiday care 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM; Snow
day care 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM. Pre-registration and a bagged lunch is
required. $10 daily fee paid upon drop off. We provide morning and
afternoon snack.
❏ Three Year Old Group - This class is for children who turned three before
9/1. It meets Monday from 10:00-11:30 and Wednesdays from 1:00-2:30.
The class operates on a first-come first-served basis.

The Shack’s Wishlist
Our baby pantry is in need of supplies! We are looking for
diapers size 5 and 6, wipes, baby shampoo and
conditioner, and body wash. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
