SEO Overview
What is SEO?
“Search engine optimization (SEO) is the practice of increasing the quantity and quality
of traffic to your website through organic search engine results.”

Today’s session is NOT about SEO, but about some of the Joomla extensions available
to aid in your SEO tuning. If you want to learn more about SEO methodology, here are a
couple of sources that I find helpful. I find these a little easier to digest than some of the
other documentation.

The Beginner’s Guide to SEO The Search Engine Land Guide to SEO

                    moz.com
                                                                   searchengeingeland.com
SEO Extensions

Joomla Extension Directory has 105
extensions covering Metadata,
Canonical Links, Keywords, and more

That’s a lot to go through. I use
joomlaseo.com to pare down the list.

This site is run by Simon Kloostra who
literally wrote the book on Joomla 3!
SEO and Performance.

Both the book and the website are
great resources for optimizing your
Joomla sites.
