Great to have you with us on this long holiday weekend. Where have you been?
Laying low, yo. Last year sucked. You cats were choosing sides and finger pointing like the traffic manager who
ran a Coke and Pepsi spot back to back. I wasn’t getting in the middle of that...everybody was ready to beat
everybody else up and I thought my Country was about to be Red, White, Black and Blue. Glad everybody’s
chilling out and smiling on your brother, everybody get together gotta love one another, right now...again. Plus,
I’m pretty old and high risk, so I shacked up at the VFW Hall during the “Pandy”.
Do you have favorite radio stations?
Dude, I’ve been around since the early 1800’s. I remember when the Marconi’s had that goofy kid Gugie. I told
him to connect some wires and I have this idea for Radio Free Europe. I also used to dig Air America. But I can’t
find it. Maybe I need batteries in my boombox. This weekend I’ve been streaming American Patriotic Music on
my iHeartRadio app thingy.
Anything heavy on your mind?
Really? Where do you wanna start. How about the weather. I fish a lot with Al Gore and he’s been all over this
for a good American minute. But Lordy, I had an Audacy gig this weekend at a ball game…(you know, waving a
folks and posing with the sweaty kids…) in Phoenix. It was 117 and trust me this wool suit it friggin’ hot……hey,
look there’s Drew Bland….what?
You’ve been around through all the wars, the turmoil and ups and downs. Does anything surprised you anymore?
Yes. No one has sued Smokey over the poster…my poster! Check em out. A/B them. Me/Him…side by side.
He’s wearing a hat, pointing a finger…maybe it’s a claw but you get my point, and doing the “Only You”….bit.
MY BIT. Friggin’ bears. Can’t trust ‘em. And Lee Greenwood’s accent. We gig together a lot and he should be a
hillbilly but he interviews like Michael Buble. I don’t get it.
Is Uncle Sam an Air Name?
Yes, I’m Sam Wilson from Troy, New York. A grocer, butcher by trade. I delivered cases of meat to the soldiers
during The War of 1812 and the cases were marked U.S. The dudes thought it was short for Uncle Sam ..ya,
know, Wilson…me. And they started calling me that. No, really. No…really really. Google it. I got the hat from
Leon Russell’s Dad and the beard idea from John Marks great, great grandpa.
If you could give America some advice, what would it be?
Stop shooting each other. That’s just stupid. Play more Springsteen. Love thy neighbor. When you see someone
in uniform, stop and thank them. Play more cross-over hits. Make a difference. Volunteer. Give peace a chance.
Update my suit. Be smart rent a cart. Eat less red meat. Gotta run, I have a telethon gig with Elvis Duran.

CHARTS/POWERS:
1 AIRPLAY is calculated by Trailing 14 Days of radio airplay on the Key Influencer radio
stations – Top 157 radio stations by Average Quarter Hour. Charts are weighted using
currently assigned points in Mediabase…100% point value for Morning Drive, 90% for
Afternoon Drive, 80% for Mid-days, 70% for nights, 50% for Overnights.
2 RETENTION is calculated by listener Tune-In and Tune-Out using trailing 6 weeks,
weighting the most recent week double, and the five weeks prior equally.
3 NATIONAL CALLOUT contemplates more than 1,000 respondents weekly in four regions
geographically equivalent over the trailing 14 days of calls.
4 STREAMING, AUDIO contemplates trailing 14 days of all streaming. Songs with
insufficient data are designated with an “x”. These songs do not affect the Total Performance
Score in any way.
5 STREAMING, VIDEO contemplates trailing 14 days of all streaming. Songs with
insufficient data are designated with an “x”. These songs do not affect the Total Performance
Score in any way.
6 SALES is base on 14 days trailing results. Songs with insufficient data are designated as
PENDING. Pending songs do not affect Total Performance Score in any way.
HOT ZONE / DEVELOPING
All five components listed above are contemplated. Songs moving up and increasing
significantly in TWO or more categories are designated in the Hot Zone. Other new releases
are designated as Developing.
RECURRENTS
Recurrents are a simple calculation of songs that have trended downward and no longer
qualify for Current status. Trailing 14 days are contemplated, along with 6 weeks of Retention
Data, and are computed on a 50/50 level of importance.
ACTION
Songs that are testing either in Callout or in Retention significantly higher than current Airplay
rank. These songs are considered UNDEREXPOSED and deserving generally of greater
airplay.
STREAMING AUDIO, VIDEO AND SALES
Streaming Audio and Video, and Sales, are based on trailing 14 days data. All major
streaming services are used wherever possible, along with sales.
