HI FILM FANS,
The Summer blockbuster season is truly upon us and
we will be showing some of the best this summer has
to offer. Disney’s THE LION KING promises to be an
absolute box office juggernaut, with people going nuts
for the new realistic look for Simba and the animals of
Pride Rock. We start July with YESTERDAY from director
Danny Boyle, about a struggling musician who suddenly
becomes the only person who remembers the Beatles.
Sticking with a musical theme there’s BLINDED BY
THE LIGHT from the director of Bend It Like Beckham
about the effect the music of Bruce Springsteen has
on a young Indian teenager growing up in England. It
                           wouldn’t be summer without a super-hero and we’ve
got SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME. Find out how Peter Parker is adapting to a
post-Endgame world in the Marvel Universe.

But it’s not all bluster and tunes, there’s smaller scale stories as well. THE
CURRENT WAR tells the fascinating true story of the rivalry between Thomas Edison
and George Westinghouse Starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Shannon.
ANIMALS based on the hit novel by Emma Jane Unsworth about the relationship
between two young women on the verge of adulthood. There’s an all-star cast in
THE DEAD DON’T DIE led by Bill Murray and Adam Driver in director Jim Jarmusch’s
zombie comedy. Plus indie horror MIDSOMMAR from the director of Hereditary.

Obviously it’s the Summer school holidays so we have a great range for families with
ANGRY BIRDS 2, THE QUEEN’S CORGI, UGLY DOLLS, DORA AND THE LOST CITY OF
GOLD and PLAYMOBIL THE MOVIE.

MY PICK
My choices for this brochure are the space documentaries
APOLLO 11 covering the historic NASA mission to land on
the Moon, and ARMSTRONG, about the first man himself.
They look brilliant and tie in with the 50th Anniversary of
the Moon landing. But also the new Quentin Tarantino film
ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD looks amazing!

SYNOPSIS Simba idolises his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny
on the plains of Africa. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar,
Mufasa’s brother - and former heir to the throne - has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock
is soon ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. Now,
with help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba must figure out how to grow up and
take back what is rightfully his.

BUZZ Expectations couldn’t be higher for this Disney adaptation. THE LION KING is rightly
regarded as an animated classic and amongst Disney’s best films. The cast is phenomenal and
the song sheet is absolutely unbreakable. The animation looks as amazing as the original did
back in 1994.
