The German (punk)rock band Die Toten Hosen is a phenomenon of superlatives. In this music &
concert documentary Cordula Kablitz-Post accompanies the legendary and most successful Ger-
man-speaking rock band - with 19 millions records sold since 1982 - on one of their biggest tours in
band history, both in the limelight and backstage with "access all areas". The result is an intimate
portrait of the band, but also the documentation of a huge tour that resembles a rollercoaster
of emotions: After celebrated concerts the abrupt stop due to the sudden hearing loss of singer
Campino, doubts and new beginnings, the triumphant return performing at their own "Hosen-Fest"

Marquardt, a young punk and photographer. When the Wall came down, nightlife took control over
their lives. Until today they play a decisive role in the reunited city’s never ending nights as the
most famous bouncers of Berlin’s popular clubs.

legacies of modern Georgians directly to the viewer, revealing an intricate
and resilient society that has survived regular foreign invasion and repeated

BY ANDREAS PICHLER

                                                    There‘s one thing milk stands
for — health. It‘s seen as natural, nutrient-rich and comes from happy cows in
green meadows. Today however, milk is big business and a highly sought-after
commodity that is subject to aggressive trading. In Europe alone, 2 billion
tonnes of milk and milk powder are produced annually and sold worldwide.
How did cows become suppliers for the high-tech milk industry? What alter-
natives are there? Who are the people behind it? How does milk consumption
affect our health? This film goes behind-the-scenes and allows the players to
have their say. A fascinating journey throughout the world of milk that takes
us across Europe, America, Asia and Africa to meet farmers, dairy owners,
politicians, lobbyists, NGOs, scientists in order to investigate the far-reaching
consequences that the big business of milk has – on the animals, environment
 and on us humans.

explores the new music and social phenomenon of chanting. The film shares
the stories of people who are finding healing and a sense of inner peace by
singing mantras together with others just like them. It’s a film about spiritual-
ity not religion, it’s about people reconnecting with their true selves and with
others. As our characters’ stories about their connection to the music unfold,
we meet the musicians who have inspired them and brought them together.
Through these encounters, we will discover how Deva Premal & Miten, Krish-
na Das, Snatam Kaur, Lama Gyurme, Jai Uttal, MC Yogi and others came to
this music themselves and to the practice of »Kirtan«, and how, over the years,
 it transformed their lives.

BUNCH OF KUNST –
A FILM ABOUT SLEAFORD MODS
BY CHRISTINE FRANZ

Thanks to their sweary rants about
modern England, Nottingham duo Sleaford Mods have been called »the voice
of Britain« by their fans, »Britain‘s angriest band« by the Guardian and »The
world‘s greatest rock’n’roll band« by Iggy Pop. Jason Williamson, a former
chicken factory worker and father of two, his band mate, beatmaker Andrew
Fearn, and their manager Steve Underwood, avant-garde bedroom label owner
and former bus driver, have won over fans with their brutally honest lyrics and
DIY ethos. Following them on their two-year journey from bedroom recording
sessions to mainstream success, Christine Franz’s official documentary feature
tells the story of three guys taking on the music business on their own terms.

               THE CONGO TRIBUNAL
               BY MILO RAU

The war in Congo has caused more
than six million deaths over the last twenty years. The population is suffering,
but the offenders stay with impunity. Many people see this conflict as one of
globalisation‘s crucial economic distribution battles because the country has
major deposits of many high-tech raw materials. Milo Rau, one of Europe‘s
most acclaimed theatre directors, succeeds in gathering victims, perpetrators,
observes and analysts of the conflict for a unique civil tribunal in eastern
Congo. The documentary film brings these spectacular court trials to life on
the big screen and creates an unvarnished portrait of the largest and bloodiest
                economic wars in human history.

AGGREGATE
BY MARIE WILKE

                                         AGGREGATE is comprised of obser-
vations in editorial offices, in public places and in the Federal Parliament in
Germany. In a period of upheaval: the refugee crisis and right-wing populism
put the democratic system to the test. Without commentary, the film observes
political and journalistic everyday life behind the scenes in Germany. What
language do politicians and editors use when they are among themselves?
What happens when citizens meet up with politicians? How do newspaper
and TV editorial teams report on issues? AGGREGATE is not a narrative.
The film is a collection of pictures, impressions and fragments of the present
political and medial reality of German democracy.

          BY GEREON WETZEL

Konstantin Grcic is considered one of
the most innovative and profound product designers worldwide. His career
began with a chair and a lamp, both of which are on display at the MOMA
in New York. »Design is Work« accompanies the designer for the duration
of a year in the various segments of his working world. Here, with the aid of
design models, we can observe the developmental process behind one of his
most prominent pieces, »Chair_One«– from the initial sketches to the finished
product. In the film, these working steps are lucidly illustrated by Grcic’s cur-
rent project: a furniture series made of cast iron, conceived and developed
with the long-established Italian design company »Magis«. It becomes appar-
ent that design involves a tremendous amount of work – but also considerably
           more.

Anka Schmid recounts her generation’s hairy stories. Whether as a body or-

when shaven. With an ingenious fusion of real-life and archive footage as well
as stop-motion technique, the animadoc explores body hair and discovers the
tremendous potential of the body’s wispiest part in daily life and in art. A tin-
gling feeling on the head is included.
