Upcoming issues of the year

       Continued reflection in specific areas:
        - Consultation meeting on the role of accredited NGOs within the 2003
           Convention (18 April 2019)
        - Expert meeting on intangible cultural heritage in emergencies
           (21-22 May 2019)
        - Preliminary meeting of experts on the listing mechanisms of the 2003
           Convention (September 2019)
       Provisional upstream dialogue for nominations of the 2019 cycle
          In line with the global reflection on the listing mechanisms, the Committee
          decided to introduce an upstream dialogue mechanism between the
          Evaluation Body and the submitting States, provisionally for the files under
          the 2019 cycle.

Tasks of the Chairperson
                 Open and close the meetings;
                 Direct the discussion, ensure smooth conduct of proceedings and
                  maintenance of order;
Evaluation Body  Seek to secure a consensus whenever possible;
   meetings      Summarize decisions;
                 Formulate with the Vice-Chairperson and Rapporteur specific
                  questions to be addressed to submitting States for files included in
                  the dialogue process.
                    Validate the final text of the report of the Body, including the draft
                     decisions;
     Report         Formulate with the Vice-Chairperson and Rapporteur the opinion
                     of the Evaluation Body on each file concerned by the dialogue
                     process.

                    Present the files evaluated, which includes:
                     - the main points of the debate on each file;

Tasks of the Rapporteur
                   Take notes of the debates and recommendations on each file;
                   Note recurrent and cross-cutting issues;
Evaluation Body
                   Formulate with the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson specific
   meetings         questions to be addressed to submitting States for files
                    included in the dialogue process.

                   Prepare the draft report based on the discussions during the
                    June meeting;
                   Integrate comments and additional observations from the
                    September meeting;
       Report      Finalize with the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson the report,
                    incorporating feedback from Body members;
                   Formulate with the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson the
                    opinion of the Evaluation Body on each file concerned by the
                    dialogue process.
