2021 VPP Course Selection Handbook 6Fee for Service Qualifications Fee For Service Qualification Options (Fee) In an effort to provide a greater range of options to students from 2021, Melville SHS has provided students with the opportunity to access a range of ‘Fee for Service’ qualifications. The new Fee for Service arrangement is a response to changes that have occurred across the State, that limited access to qualifications for many students. How are ‘Fee for Service’ qualifications different from other previously offered qualifications? The ‘Fee for Service’ qualifications are delivered by external Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). The RTOs that deliver these qualifications and assess our students, directly charge Melville SHS for the full amount of the qualification PRIOR to the student commencing their qualification. Payment Options Recent changes made to the Department of Education’s Contributions and Charges Manual confirm that VET Fee For Service Qualifications have been approved for collection of charges by schools, prior to the commencement of the academic year to confirm student enrolment. Therefore, payment of all Fee for Service charges detailed on your Contributions and Charges Summary Sheet is requested PRIOR TO 1st February 2021 to secure enrolment in the relevant qualification. Please visit our website for accepted methods of payment. How are Fee for Service Qualifications identified on my Contributions and Charges Summary? Fee for Service qualifications are identified on your Contributions and Charges Summary Sheet with the course description (eg. Business Cert III). What happens if payment is not made? Please note: If payment has not been made by the due date, or a payment plan has not been confirmed with the Billing Officer, your child will not be enrolled, and courses will be changed prior to the student returning to school. Need more information? For all enquiries regarding the ‘Fee for Service’ Qualifications, please contact Mr George Tills, VET and Transitions Manager. For Billing Enquiries, please contact our Billing Officer on 6274 1310 or email: Jennifer.Witty@education.wa.edu.au 2021 VPP Course Selection Handbook 7

2021 VPP Course Selection Handbook 13How to Create Your
Unique Student Identifier
To create a USI go to www.usi.gov.au and click on ‘Create USI’.
You will need to have a form of identification, such as
Family Medicare card (Probably the best/easiest to use)
Australian Passport
Australian Birth Certificate
Citizen Certificate
Learners’ Permit (or one of other forms of ID as listed on the website) to complete the
USI process.
International students can use amongst others, Passport (with Australian Visa),
Medicare Card, Drivers Licence.
If you cannot bring the original form of identification to school, then please take a photo
on your iPad or phone so that you are able to clearly see the details and the colour of your
card. This information will be used to complete your USI application.
Some points to note when undertaking this process are:
In the Personal Details section write your name as it is shown on your id – usually first
and surname only.
In the Contact Details section choose the preferred contact method (email,

When creating your USI, you will be asked to create a password. Please make sure
you will remember your password. Your email address and the password will be
required to log into your USI account in the future.
In the Identification Details section, write your name as it appears on the chosen form
