Nursery Schools offer a variety of services to children and parents including: flexible attendance patterns, longer days, lunches, breakfasts and other snacks as well as pre-nursery
groups. Parents will contribute to the cost of some of these services. All nursery schools operate a three term entry (September, January and after Easter) for three-and four-year olds,
where they have places available. All nursery schools also offer free Early Years Education places for two-year-olds and the extended entitlement for three- and four-year-olds often
described as 30 hours of free childcare. Eligibility criteria are in place for these services so parents need to make an application for a 2 year old place via Together for Children’s Family
Portal. Further information can be found at https://www.togetherforchildren.org.uk/families/childcare Parents can apply for a free 30 hours childcare place by visiting the HMRC Childcare
 Choiceswebsite:https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/

Some primary schools have a nursery class. These operate a three term entry (September, January and after Easter) where they have 15 hour places
available, for all three-and four-year olds. Where there is a nursery class, the school may also offer free Early Years Education places for eligible two-year-
olds and the extended entitlement for eligible three- and four-year-olds often described as 30 hours of free childcare. In order to find out which schools
offer these services parents can contact Families Information Service on 0191 520 5553. Eligibility criteria are in place for these services so parents need
to make an application for a 2 year old place via Together for Children’s Family Portal. Further information can be found at
https://www.togetherforchildren.org.uk/families/childcare Parents can apply for a free 30 hours childcare place by visiting the HMRC Childcare Choices
