     FORENSIC SCIENCE

     Aim:

     In this elective you will learn about forensic techniques and the skills associated with investigating and
     establishing facts of interest in relation to criminal law.

     Content:

     You will learn about the science associated with forensics, such as fingerprinting, DNA testing, chromatography
     and ballistics. You will discuss a number of cases and look at the evidence that helped solve the crime. You will
     also use your forensic skills to help solve a staged crime set up in the classroom. Forensic science is about using
     science to solve puzzles, so critical thinking and testing hypotheses will be part of the elective.
