Profile of Cara
Cara received a very good Leaving Certificate and obtained the points
she needed for her college course
However, she failed her honours maths which was an entry requirement for
the course she wanted
She wanted to attend third level and had never anticipated attending a
college of Further Education
On the advice of her school career guidance teacher she applied to
Moate Business College to study Business Administration
Repeated her Leaving Certificate Maths
Took part in Erasmus in Romania
Stayed to complete her Level 6
Received her first choice on CAO which was her original choiceProfile of Jason
Jason received 540 points in his Leaving

Undecided as to the art discipline that he
wished to pursue
Came to MBC to explore his options

physiotherapist in a private practice After my leaving cert I got my first
choice in university but was unsure if it
was for me. So I deferred my place and
decided to give myself time to explore
another area to see if it was really what I
wanted to do. Then I found Moate.
Throughout the year I fell in love with my
coursework and my teachers were very
Clodagh understanding and comprehensive.
Because of MBC I realised that the
(Software) career path I was choosing was not for
me but in fact it was game design.
After completing this course and
working hard I got my first choice to
study Game Design in third level and I
cannot express how thankful I am for
the staff at Moate for showing me what
I could do. In 2016, I had received my Leaving
Certificate results but was still left unsure
as to what my career path was to be.
MBC bridged this gap between me and
what I acknowledge now as my
passion. Through this course, I was given
the opportunity to explore some of the
many elements in the media sector
Sean which helped me focus on what steps I
wanted to take next in furthering my
(Creative education.
Media) I have recently graduated from DCU
with a BA in Communications Studies
and am employed with the university's
marketing department working with
elements of graphic design and digital
marketing. I also hope to complete
a Masters Degree in the near future.What can we offer?
