Connecting Schools 2021-22
Gold Grant Menu
Schools who reach gold accreditation (600 points) and unlock this package will receive up to
$2,499 in value for a medium scale bike related infrastructure project, bike education, place-
making initiative, pool bikes, trike and signage bundle or can present the Your Move Team
with their own active travel related ideas!
Upon unlocking this package, the Your Move Team will be in touch to arrange a kick-off
meeting to discuss grant ideas. Listed below are some options for your consideration.
Medium grants - $800 to $2499 in value

Want to invest in a pool of bicycles for your school to use for
Bike education? Want to receive AusCycle accredited training
to deliver Bike education to your students?
Then this is the package for you!
2. Bicycle
Package 1 Confirm your interest to participate in the training with the Your
Move team, then visit your local bicycle shop and select the
bikes you like to make this a reality!
You could add up to $2,200 worth of bicycles to your PE
department.

Medium grants - $800 to $2499 in value
The Constable Care Safety School is a best-practice
excursion destination for children aged 4-11 years, which
focuses on teaching kids the skills required to ride safely and
understand road rules, helping them to ride, scoot or walk to
school safely.
This package offers a one 3-hr school excursion to the Safety
School in Maylands, catering for up to 60 students (2 standard
3. Safety School classes).
Excursion
Transportation costs for up to 60 students and 10 adults to

and from the excursion venue will be covered within the Perth
metropolitan area.
The package also includes general road safety signs giving
students an opportunity to apply the road safety knowledge
they have been taught at the Safety School, on school
grounds.

Metro and inner regional schools*
This bike education package will allow up to 60 students
access to 4 hours of bike education.
Delivery for metro schools is flexible to a schools’ timetable
and the course will be delivered to 30 students per session,
with students engaging in 4 x 1-hour sessions or 2 x 2-hour
sessions.
4. Bike
Delivery for regional schools will occur over one day in two

blocks of 2 hours or one block of 4 hours.
Students to supply their own bicycle*.
Outer regional and remote schools**
This bike education package will allow up to 30 students
access to 4 hours of bike education. The program delivery will
occur over one day in two blocks of 2 hours or one block of 4
hours.

* If you require access to bike hire, this can be accommodated but may
impact the level of service the school receives. Alternatively, schools can
use any available YM points towards any additional costs incurred.
**Speak to the Your Move to find out if your school falls within an eligible
region.
Perfect for an outdoor education class, this session will leave
your students feeling inspired and confident to get out
mountain biking!
This clinic delivered by ‘Rock’n’Roll Mountain Biking’ at their
bike trails in the Kalamunda area provides a great introduction
to mountain biking in WA for up to 30 students, with beginner
topics like bike setup, bike balance and control and some
basic skills all covered.
The clinic is designed for new and novice riders, no
5. Mountain Bike experience necessary, and is suitable for all ages (14 years
Excursion +). Experience the thrills and action of mountain biking while
gaining knowledge of where to ride in Perth. All conducted in a
safe and friendly environment.
Rock’n’Roll Mountain Biking is a Perth based company so this
package is available to Metro schools only. If you are a
regional school and have a local provider of mountain bike or
BMX clinics, get in touch with Your Move to see what
customised package we can arrange for you!
Transportation costs for up to 30 students and accompanying
adults to and from the excursion venue will be covered within
the Perth metropolitan area.
The Trike and Road Sign Bundle kit will provide hours of
entertainment while also helping children become more aware
of road safety.
6. Trike and
Road Sign The kit includes 2 x Weplay Large Trikes (WY51), 2 x Weplay
Bundle Medium Trikes (WY52), 1 x Give Way Sign (TG02), 1 x
Roundabout Sign (TG03), 1 x Speed Limit Sign 60kph (TG04),
1 x No Entry Sign (TG05) and 1 x Working Traffic Light
(TK2990). Contents may vary.4

A perfect addition to your Early Childhood centres and a great
way to inspire active travel from a young age. Suits ages 3+
years.
Have a great idea to increase the attractiveness of walking,
cycling or scooting to and from your school? Then this
package is for your school!
Your Move want to see more locally-driven initiatives taking
place in the Your Move school communities to inspire walking,
cycling and scooting. While we want you to drive the idea, as
this is a Gold tier grant, we would like to see this initiative
leave a permanent legacy to inspire future active travel.
7. Place-making
initiative Upon unlocking this grant, you will be sent a simple
package application form to complete. This will let Your Move know
what, how and when you will make this initiative a reality.
All costs associated with delivering the initiative, up to the
maximum value of $2,499, will be reimbursed to the school
upon DoT receiving the Place-making initiative acquittal and a
Tax invoice.
Discuss your idea with the Your Move team in the kick-off

Gold Grant Infrastructure Menu
Below is a list of possible infrastructure packages available upon unlocking a
Gold Grant.
Metro schools, all packages include bike parking design service (when required), supply and
installation into existing concrete, by Leda Security. Click on the product codes below to view
more details.
Regional schools, products will be supplied and delivered by Leda Security, but installation
options need to be discussed with Your Move Schools Officer. Please note, installation costs
might not be covered by the grant funding.
