Humanitas activa is focussing on education and supports the
youth to achieve a self-determined life with own income
through self-employed business
The Institut is located in Ukunda, next to CBS
around 50 km south of Mombasa / Kenia

The training is carried out according to the training standards of
the National Training Authority: In this way, the student obtains
an official certificate for his crafting profession.

The director, Oscar Andega, gives lessons with a beamer
in Word, Excel, PPT, Internet, Web Design and SEO Marketing.
Voluteers with knowledge with Linux / Lubuntu / Labtix are highly welcome.

15 Tailoring
15 Hairdressing
2 students are managing the
Copy-Shop with Internet-Café,
They get 5000 ksh (45 €) per month.
Donors support each with 25 €/month.
Every Azubi has to pay 500 KSH
(ca. 4,50 €) per month.
So education becomes a value!
All of them are interested and
come every day!

Some of the female trainees already have 2 and 3 year old
children. To enable the trainees = mothers to concentrate better
on their training, a kindergarten was opened on 16.02.2019 in
the back of the vocational school.

trained teacher for education for kindergarten teachers. She is
the wife of the Vocational Director, Oscar Andega.Susann (right)
cooks daily for the little rascals.

Cooperation with Labdoo.org
We are very proud to be part of the Labdoo network.
UJUZI Vocational Training Institute is not only an endoovillage, it is the
first Labdoo-HUB in East Africa.
Also a volunteer station of labdoo trainees and practioneers.
Herr Ralf Hamm (CEO Labdoo.org ) was honored by chancellor Mr. Dr.
Merkel at 16.06.2016:

Cooperation with local Schools and Hospitals.
We are giving up PC-Units (Computer – Monitor – Keyboard – Mouse) to
other Schools, NGOs and Hospitals around the Institute in Ukunda for a
delivery commission of 100 € (11.000 ksh). With or without Lubuntu
Operating System and labdoo learning software – if wanted.
UJUZI Vocational Training Institute will be volunteer station of labdoo
trainees and practioneers.

strengthen and weaknesses
Intercultural lessons about culture and behavior of
Kenyans (DOS and don'ts's) of an intercultural
expert (best case with good english and also
German knowledge and German language).

Tasks for two groups:
1. Evaluation of survey. Goal is it to evaluate the situation in Kwale.
- Which courses are provided today and planned at which institute /
school. The study should managed by german AND kenyan students
(University of Mount Kenya/Nairobi)
- Which exams are done at the end?
- Which situation is prepared for a „self-employed“ student and how
is the rate of finisher? Successfully?! Means: an own income
- What about an Alumni network of students after getting exam?
Humanitas activa plans to do this at UJUZI na UFUNDI from 2021.

Survey 2021: Survey 2022 (Alumnus):
2. Evaluation of stakeholder analysis (who is interested in such a
study?!) to generate appropriation money of BMZ, foundations or
other NGOs starting in 2021 with german and kenyan students under
lead of ISI.
