For over a week, cadres of the DMK party have
gathered at the gates of Kauvery Hospital, Alwarpet
where the party’s leader, M. Karunanidhi is being
treated for serious, age-related health problems.
They have given vent to their emotions, shouted
slogans and bared their hearts. But now that photos
show Karunanidhi’s health has ‘stabilised’, cadres
are happy. Some of them even shared sweets with
others at the hospital gates on Thursday.

The school’s history can be traced back to 1869 when it
was first established as a primary school with three classes. It
was known as Vizianagaram Maharajah’s Hindu Girls School
