March is a time of transition from winter to spring, and there is so much to explore! This month we will
learn about Dr. Seuss, Wild Weather, St. Patrick’s Day, Signs of Spring, and Transportation.
• Tuesday the 2nd is Dr. Seuss’ birthday, and we will celebrate by dressing WACKY! LCPS is closed
this day, but the NLC will be open. If your child does not normally attend on Tuesdays, contact their
teacher to sign up for this fun day.
• Thursday the 11th is Popcorn Lovers Day. Yum!
• Let’s welcome the approaching season of spring by observing Plant a Flower Day on Friday the
12th.
• St. Patrick’s Day is on Wednesday the 17th. Don’t forget to wear green!
• Thursday the 18th is St. Andrew’s monthly “Fill the Trunk” food drive. Please consider bringing
non-perishable food items at pick up time to be donated to Loudoun Hunger Relief. More people
than ever need the help of local food banks and donations are traditionally down in the winter so
please help if you are able.
• National Puppy Day is Tuesday the 23rd this year. Because who doesn’t love a puppy!
• LCPS Spring Break will be from March 29th through April 1st. The NLC will be open as usual during
this week, and information about Spring Break Camp will be provided later in March.
• We celebrate National Crayon Day on Wednesday the 31st.
• The NLC will be CLOSED on Friday, April 2nd in observance of Good Friday.
