The term “Vigna”, followed by the traditional name
of the vineyard, has the function in Italian wine law of
certifying a production of one single vineyard. It can
only be used for wines with Doc / Docg denomination.
The alluvial cone at the northern end of the village of
Salurn provides ideal conditions for growing Lagrein
and Merlot and Chardonnay. The 8.5 hectares of vines
we cultivate were therefore vinified separately for
many years and provided with the traditional Villa
Karneid label.

Is the new top of the Castelfeder quality pyramid and highlights the historic Cru site
Kreuzweg in the best vintages. Castelfeder’s new top wine, a Chardonnay Riserva, derives
its name from the Cru in the heart of the village of Margreid, which is historically the best
growing area for this variety in South Tyrol. In a limited edition of only 1,400 bottles,
EMIL IA- ROMAG NA
this wine reflects the characteristics of the terroir in the South Tyrolean Unterland.
For Castelfeder, Kreuzweg is of particular importance because it is the result of years of
intensive research and many micro-vinification trials to achieve the desired result. The
Kreuzweg is undoubtedly a unique wine in which you can taste the history & passion that
characterises the work of those who work in the vineyard and in the cellar; a wine that
fully reflects the characteristics of its terroir.

groves are in an extremely exposed position. Other vines are located inland near
Monte Cicogna, the wooded hill that gives the farm its name. The influence of the
lake and the wooded hills behind it create a Mediterranean microclimate perfect
for vines. This in addition to the morainic soil with its clayey limestone
gives the wines their special quality.
