When you practice putting don?t spend all of it
on mechanics. You can save a lot more strokes
by practicing lag putts, which will sharpen your

New owners of Royal New Kent begin restoration of Mike
 Strantz layout
Royal New Kent, which opened in 1997, is one of just
nine courses designed by Strantz before his death at the
age of 50. Strantz was known for bold, unconventional
and artistic work including Tobacco Road in North
Carolina and the 2003 redesign of the Shore Course at
Monterey Peninsula Country Club in California.
?Mike Strantz was a tremendously talented and gifted
architect whose career was, unfortunately, cut short,?
said Barton Tuck, chairman of Wingfield Golf, which
manages nine golf courses in Virginia, Florida and
Mississippi. ?It is an honor to have the opportunity to
take one of his best back to what he originally designed
and get it back in tip-top shape, and to play a part in
preserving Strantz?s legacy for golfers to enjoy for many
 years to come.?
Royal New Kent was named Best New Upscale Public
Course by Golf Digest upon opening, with its design
inspired by the character of Ireland?s links, particularly
 Royal County Down and Ballybunion.

Novak Djok ovic
It?s a magnificent seven. Novak Djokovic eclipsed the six Australian
Open titles won by Roy Emerson and Roger
Federer to take sole ownership of the men?s singles record at
Melbourne Park with a resounding 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 win over Rafael Nadal
on Sunday night.
The world No.1 has now won the last three Grand Slam titles in
succession, surpassing the trophy hauls of both Emerson and his idol
Pete Sampras with his 15th major in the process.

The streak has finally been broken. After eight different women won
the last eight Grand Slams, Naomi Osaka snapped the trend and
triumphed in back-to-back majors.
The 21-year-old from Japan is the first woman since Jennifer
Capriati in 2001 to follow up her maiden Grand Slam success by
winning the very next major.
Her victory over Petra Kvitova in the Australian Open 2019 final on
Saturday has catapulted her to the top spot in the world rankings,
making Osaka the youngest world No. 1 since Caroline Wozniacki in
2010.

4 Interior Design Trends for 2019

When it comes to custom homes, adaptability and creativity are literally built right in. You call the shots every step of the
way, from the biggest considerations right down to the smallest detail. But did you know that the opportunities don?t stop
there? Instead, each month offers new ways to make your custom home stand out.
The start of a new year is an ideal time to showcase all of the exciting and innovative features of your custom home. That
includes interior design and personalized décor. Use this advice to take the comfort and style of your residence to a new
level in 2019.
1) Th in k Ou t side t h e Box
Adopting trends can be tough. On the one hand, it?s nice to be part of a new craze. On the other, you might be hesitant to
make drastic changes to your home?s décor that you might regret later on. Luckily, it?s easy to find a middle ground to satisfy
the desires of every member of your family.
For example, according to design experts, mixed textures are hot this year. Don?t be afraid to experiment with different
materials, including wood, varied textile fibers, metal, leather, and more. You can even incorporate recycled objects (such as
glass and tin) into your overall design. When you live in a high-quality custom home tailored to your exact requirements,
decorating is fun and relaxing.
2) Focu s on High Tr af f ic Ar eas
The most used areas of any home (according to REALTORs®) are the kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms. That?s why it?s
essential that these room match your unique personality. You want to feel comfortable in your residence. By creating a
separate ambiance for each space, you provide guests and loved ones with a new experience as they move about your
house.
For instance, metal kitchen accents (especially copper) are fashionable this year. So are butcher block countertops or those
made of solid granite and even concrete. Two-tone cabinets and colorful accents set a welcoming mood. Open shelving and
black appliances that rose to popularity in 2018 remain in style.
In the bathroom, display your stylish flair by generating an elegant atmosphere. Place candles, antiques, and interesting
décor throughout the space. Your guests will be pleasantly impressed, and your loved ones will feel like they?re staying in a
five-star hotel every day of the year.
3) M ake t h e M ost of You r Spar e Room
The possibilities are nearly endless for your spare room. After you?ve secured all the essentials for your custom home, let the
fun begin by discovering new and exciting uses for this extra space.
For example, you could make an entertainment area where the whole family can enjoy weekly movie screenings. Perhaps a
home bar or café is more your style. This room is also ideal for yoga/meditation and exercise. Many people today use a
spare room to work from home all or part of the time. You could even convert the space to a study/reading area or hobby
room. When guests visit, your spare room is the perfect spot for comfortable accommodations.
4) Dr eam It , Th en Do It
As mentioned, custom homes are all about personalization. Is sustainability and environmental responsibility important to
you? Your home builder can design a dwelling that honors this commitment. You?ll likely have other important
considerations in mind. The first step is to partner with reliable builders with a proven track record of success.
