     opening
The launch of this new sector is the
culmination of a long process of redefining
the boundaries of Parc national de la Pointe-
     Taillon. The Camp-de-Touage-les-Îles sector
is in the municipality of Saint-Gédéon at
the mouth of Rivière Petite-Décharge. This
     magnificent campground by Lac Saint-Jean
features a beautiful shoreline dotted with Camp-de-
small sandy beaches, which are isolated
by rocky headlands. It also includes Touage–Les-Îles
approximately thirty islands and islets within
the boundaries of the city of Alma and the
     municipality of Saint-Gédéon. These islands
are known for their great beauty and offer
privileged access to Lac Saint-Jean. A mosaic
of landscapes, this archipelago of recognized
ecological value shelters habitats for many
     plant and animal species.
