Smart India Hackathon

1. A unique IT Initiative under which students are encouraged to apply
   knowledge to the real life situations and to find innovative solutions to
   the day to day problems

3. It includes 2 sub- editions – Software as well as Hardware:
    1. Software Edition- 36-hour software product development
        competition, similar in concept to SIH 2017.
    2. In the new Hardware Edition of the Hackathon, the teams work for 5
        consecutive days and build their hardware solutions for the proposed
        problem statements.
4. SIH 2019 aims at developing software and hardware solutions to industrial
   problems.

SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning
for Young Aspiring Minds)

   Programme in Teaching (ARPIT).

Network (GIAN)

1. Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) in Higher Education was
   launched on 30th November, 2015.
2. The programme seeks to invite distinguished academicians, entrepreneurs,

   the higher educational institutions in India.

to be Universities) Regulations, 2017

1. to create a distinct category called Institutions of Eminence Deemed to be
   Universities (regulated differently from other Deemed to be Universities )
    a. to evolve into Institutions of world class in reasonable time period.
    b. to assist Indian Higher Education Institutions to get a rank within the top
       100 in globally renowned rankings.

1. pan-India electronic trading portal which networks the existing APMC
   mandis to create a unified national market for agricultural commodities.
2. Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC) is the lead agency for
   implementing eNAM under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’
   Welfare, Government of India.

GOBARdhan scheme
1.Galvanising Organic Bio-Agro Resource dhan or
   “GOBARdhan” scheme on 30th April 2018.
2. The scheme is aimed at keeping villages clean while
   increasing the income of farmers and cattle owners by
   promoting local entrepreneurs to convert cattle dung and
   other organic resources to biogas and organic manure.
Swajal
1. community demand driven, decentralized, single village, preferably
   solar powered, mini PWS (Piped Water Supply) programme for the 117
   aspirational districts identified by NITI Aayog.
2. Gram Panchayats in partnership with rural communities and State
   sectoral agencies would be involved in the execution of the scheme and
   also operate and maintain the scheme.
3. The programme would also sustain ODF status.
